This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rookie Draft results

Postby CJRousseau » Mon Apr 27, 2020 7:30 am

Let me know how you think I did:

1.02 D'andre Swift
2.02 (14th) Michael Pittman Jr
2.05 (17th) Ke'Shawn Vaughn
2.11 (23rd) Bryan Edwards
3.02 (26th) Antonio Gibson
3.05 (29th) Darrynton Evans
5.02 (50th) Jake Fromm

I think Ke'Shawn Vaughn's workload will increase throughout the year and getting him at 17th will wind up being a steal

I think you will get this response quite quickly, so I will do it. It is hard to comment on how you did when we don't know which players were available when you drafted. Posting the whole draft or a link to the draft would help in evaluation. There is a topic called rookie drafts to post a link or the draft in.
We also don't know scoring rules or starting requirements without more information.

Not a fan of Swift at 2, myself. Like the rest of it.

I drafted a lot of those guys myself in the Early Bird special. So I like it overall.

Swift at 1.02 is bad value, even if it ends up being a good pick. JT and CEH are viewed as the clear top 2 in all of my leagues, and most around here, so you should have been able to trade down and still get him or one of the other equal prospects. I've done 2 drafts so far, and he was RB4 in one and RB5 in the other. He's certainly talented enough he could end up paying off, but based on value at this time he was an overdraft.

Where have Albert O. and Tyler Johnson gone in your drafts.

Don't like Swift at all at 1.2. The rest looks good with the information we have, but as others have stated, much easier to assess if we know what other options you had and your league format. Also, very interested to see who went 1.1 and why you chose Swift over Taylor or CEH. Did you try to trade down if you were set on Swift?

Thanks for posting

Albert undrafted, but in the 3rd round of one currently, and 4th of the other.

Johnson I drafted late 3, and undrated so far in tge other.

idk why people like taylor way over swift aside from detroits poor RB history beyond barry sanders. i see mack as more of a threat than KJ for touches. think swift at 2 is a fine pick as did the Lions when they took him as the 2nd Rb off the board.

I love Swift as a prospect, but if you wanted him then I agree with what others have said. You should have traded back. Swift would have been there at 3 for sure. Great late round picks though.

BTW this is more team advice. I'm going to move the thread.

Would be easier to give a proper response if we had the whole draft, so we know who was still available when you picked.

I personally don't like Swift at 1.02. If he was your guy, you probably could have traded back, picked up another pick or two, and still got him.
I don't love Pittman at 2.02, I'm guessing there were at least a couple of guys that I like better that were still available.
I like Vaughn at 2.05, I think that's great value for him.

I think the rest is fine.

I agree with this. I have Swift anywhere from 5-7 and if you really wanted him you might have been able to trade back and acquire more assets.
