Trade up from 1.08 to 1.02

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade up from 1.08 to 1.02

Postby Kelldon » Mon Apr 27, 2020 12:27 am

Looking to trade up from 1.08 to 1.02. I offered 1.08, 2021 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and Curtis Samuel. All 3 2021 picks should be late picks(between 8-10).

Owner hasn't responded yet. Did I offer too much?

Personally, I feel like that is to much to move up 6 spots, especially with the way the NFL draft went. A lot of tier 2 players moved up and closed the gap to tier 1 due to landing spots in my opinion. I don't feel like the gap between 1.08 and 1.02 is as big as it was before the draft.

Seems like a lot to give up, but if there's a player you really like at 1.02, then go get them

Don't know that I would do that myself. I'm assuming this is for your team in sig? I'd rather package those picks together and get a more established RB, which is your biggest weakness. The rest of your team is pretty solid and seems like it should be competitive.

Should I remove the 2021 2nd from the deal? I feel like this move along with who I draft at 1.05 gives me a a really strong chance at being able in championship game.

The owner with the 1.02 also has LF and is a ways away from being a serious contender. Should I go for LF instead of the 1.02?

Removing the 2021 2nd from the deal would certainly be better for you from a value stand point, however, if your goal is to compete for a championship, I don't know that you want to rely on a couple of rookies for that. Generally not a good plan. I'd rather move the picks for a RB in the Mixon/Jacobs range. Or at least one of your picks and one of your WR's like Arob or Golladay.

I really don't like to rely on rookies, but barring a bad set of injuries I am pretty much a lock to make playoffs. So if a rb from one of those spots can provide depth in case David Johnson or Gurley don't work out that will give me great shot at making to the championship game.

x2 - an established player is a much safer way to go if it's an option.

I already reached out to the Mixon and Zeke owners and both said they're not selling.

Gonna cost a lot to move that far. As of now, I see a top tier of 6 or 7 players so you're bigly tier jumping if the 1.02 owner sees things the way I see.

I think a future latish 1st and a 2nd and 3rd sounds like the right price. 1.02 owner may deny it, and if he does I wouldn't pay more than that

Seems like a fair offer for the 1.02. I'd wait to hear back, but I probably wouldn't add much more.
