So on Wednesday we are starting a slow auction startup with a $400 budget. Here are the details:

1 QB/WR/RB/TE Flex
4 WR/RB/TE Flex
17 - Bench
Fractional Scoring / Example : 1 Yard = .1
Return yards count
1.00 Point Per Reception
TE’s get 1.5 Point Per Reception
0.25 Point Per Carry
0.25 Point Per Completion

14 teams
We have to nominate 3 players per day. Will post link to site so you can follow along. I hope posting here will prevent me from doing something stupid. What players would you be targeting to start and how much would you spend?

So I can't offer much insight as I've never payed in an auction league, but in that format I would load up on running backs and tight ends. If you can come away with like Stafford and Bridgewater at QB I would be fine with that. So while a lot of the league will probably stock up on QBs I'd go for RBs and TEs

14 team with those settings I want to spend on 2 TEs and 1 stud QB.
Wrs seem to have nothing going for them. Kick them to the curb.

I'd personally focus on getting QB's, TEs, and RB's in that order. I'd ignore WR's and focus on getting some young upside WR's later in the draft for cheap. When it comes my turn to nominate a player, I'd throw out one of the top WR's every time and let the other teams waste their salary on those guys. I would not go after any of the top WR's in this type of format, my guess is they are going to go for more than they should.

Don't nominate guys that you want. Nominate players that you don't want. So for me in this format, I would nominate the top WR's every time, and let other teams waste their money on them. Save your money for QB's, TE's and RB's.

Must start 2 TE premium in a 14 teamer. I want TEs. Any TEs you can get that are flexable will mean there are teams that are starting dart throws.

Recently completed two 14-team TE Premium auction startups and, while this is not a bad idea, expect to spend at least 12%-15% of the budget on Andrews and %16-20 on Kittle.

I think I'd be fine with spending 35% of my budget on those two TEs in a 2TE 14 team league
