Selling Price for Odell

Postby zdhaugen » Thu Apr 09, 2020 7:28 am

I realize selling Odell right now isn't necessarily selling high, but he is a year or two from the age where value starts to naturally decline and has a lot of target competition, so I figured it couldn't hurt to shop. What would you be willing to get back for Odell? One thought I had was 1.04 (for Lamb) and Marquise Brown. But open to any thoughts on what you would sell for? Team in signature.

You have a strong team, why not hold OBJ and compete this year? I think his value will reset during the season, so it would be a better time to sell him in a few months or next offseason if you want to get better value.

Yeah, that is where I am leaning and probably the smart move, but just worried that target there this year still won't be that high, and if he doesn't dominate this year, he loses most of the name value he has left.

I’m not selling OBJ now. He changed teams, was injured the entire year and mayfield was in his 2nd year where QBs sometimes slumped. With that said, your RBs are very suspect so you need to trade some WRs if you want to compete. Otherwise I don’t see you as a contender

Yeah I could try and package him with something to get Kamara or something like that. However, if you look at my picks you can also add Swift, Dobbins, and CEH to my rb group.

Piling on, Beckham is best to hold outside of an overpay. His value may or may not rebound, so its certainly a gamble but if it does, you could get a big package. He was crazy valuable a couple years back.

I think I’d rather take a shot at 1.04/M Brown. I think the WRs at 1.04 will be comparable to someone like AJB or maybe better. I think many would go AJB over OBJ given the age difference right now so I’m kinda looking at the deal this way.

OBJ is a gifted player but I just don’t like his situation combined with his propensity to pout. At 1.04, there’s a good chance you get Lamb or Jeudy and I like that play. I think I’m just over waiting/hoping for OBJ and ready for some of the new talent to surpass him. OBJ averaged less than 12 ppg and was WR38 last year just behind Cole Beasley.

I too would hold OBJ. His value is way beneath his talent level for me currently. I’d much rather gamble on the upside we know and have seen I’d there. There’s another post asking about selling him for the 1.04 straight up, and the majority of answers are to do it, if that gives you any idea of how low he’s viewed.

His value was definitely crazy high even at the beginning of this year actually. If he can build on last season, much like Jarvis built on his
year 1 season with baker (I'm assuming gaining a better connection), then OBJ's value can really takeoff from where it is right now.

I'm considering moving him with Terry McLaurin & 1.08, but I'd be getting Joe Mixon & 1.02 in return, so the value is still there. You could use some help at RB, but unless you can flip him for an upgrade there, I'd hold him. I think he will have a bounce-back year.
