Move Hopkins while competing?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Move Hopkins while competing?

Postby never_punts » Mon Apr 06, 2020 2:29 pm

I'm building around my QBs to be competitive currently. My top WRs are Hop, Sutt, DJM, AJB. We start 2 WR. Full team info in sig.

Is it crazy/too risky for me to consider moving a stud like Hopkins when I'm trying to compete?
Was considering trying to offer him for something like:
Mark Andrews + an early 1st
Fournette + an early 1st
Golladay + a mid 1st

The goal would be to sell high on Hop for a flex spot starter, and also get a 2020 1st to use to strength my RB depth.

Of the options, Andrews helps your build most in theory and the early 1st could be a good player, but I think it's too risky.

This is a scary proposition. I would hold Hopkins. Might be able to flip him or one of your other WRs+ during the season for an established RB but I wouldn't want to risk missing on that rookie pick.

Thanks. I'm a moderate lean towards keeping hop.
FWIW, the Andrews owner has the 1.04, which in superflex will be a Top-2 RB.
The owner of the 1.01's best two assets are Jacobs and JuJu.

You only start 2WRs which means you need STUDS. Hopkins is a STUD. No need to trade a STUD for depth or an upgrade elsewhere. Trade your WR depth for the upgrade instead.

I'd do any of those trades, personally. Hopkins is a big time sell for me. He's trending down. Very inefficient and now is on a new team, with a system that spreads the ball around more, and no rapport with the QB, who is also a downgrade from Watson IMO. Golloday and a mid first is a no brainer for me. Kenny G was on pace for 280 points with Stafford. Still ended up with 250 or so, with 2nd and third stringers throwing to him.

100% agree. I would jump all over the Golladay offer.

Agreed. Especially in SF where RB and WR talent will get pushed back into the middle of the first round. People are sleeping on Golladay.

I like golladay also, and think hopkins value may never be this high again. This trade makes sense to me, nobody is gonna bring back the value he will. And i love murray but watson is definitely better. I would definitely be looking to move hopkins with your roster, but dont settle, hang him out there, and let the other owners get crazy thinking they can get him, be patient, and let the offers come im
In too many leagues to post rosters, but they almost all have ajb

Thanks, all. Some really detailed input here.
The Golloday owner is the #2 team last year and he owns the 1.05 from a trade. I may dangle the offer out there but I'm not confident he'd be interested. He needs rb depth and the 1.05 will be a top-3 rb in SF.
