Trading away OBJ - POLL

Postby TampaBay216 » Fri Mar 27, 2020 8:51 pm

I’m not a fan of the situation in Cleveland. Especially now with the new run heavy coach and bringing back Hunt, I’m afraid he’ll never see the large target volume again. Not to mention Landry and now Hooper taking targets.
I have an offer on the table right now including Robinson, Cooks, and Hurst. I do need a TE badly, he also offered Jonnu if you guys like him over Hurst. Team 2 in Sig. Thoughts guys? Thanks ahead of time.

I voted keep OBJ. I feel he is a good bounce back candidate plus although I do like ARob he is in a pretty terrible offense with 2 pretty bad options as far as his QBs go. Cooks is 1 more concussion away from possibly never playing in the NFL again and although I do like Hurst I just don't think that package is enough. I would explore other options but best of luck to you!!

I would do it.. imo Allen Robinson is a solid piece, I think ARob is still peaking and OBJ already peaked so I have it OBJ>= ARob

Cooks had his first under 1000 yard year since his rookie year. If healthy he can easily bounce back.

I think Hurst is better than Hooper and can easily be a top 12 TE

Considering your build I’d sell my OBJ for that

This is my thinking as well. I just have a hard time jumping ship on such talent as OBJ’s. Plus I’m a season ticket holder in Cleveland. Not that that means anything for fantasy value, but I like to hear the reasoning for choosing the other side.
Still undecided.

My issue is his situation. Run heavy offense, just brought back Hunt, plus Baker didn’t exactly do him any favors.

Seems fair overall. Do you think you could get Robinson + Hurst + 2nd instead?

I would pull the trigger on that. Only issue is he sold all of his 20’ and 21’ early rounders to compete. He has an early 20’ and a 21’ 3rd as his highest picks.

I'd probably take it as is, but I'd try countering with someone better than Cooks included.

What do you mean ARob is still peaking and OBJ has already peaked? these guys are both from the 2014 class, although about a year a part in age (OBJ was born in in 92, Robinson in 93).

give me OBJ, the guy who has posted nothing but 1k seasons when healthy over the guy who only has 2. Cooks and Hurst don't do anything for me. I have two issues with the reasons different posters are taking the Robinson side.

1. The QB situation is not better in Chicago... Maybe Foles is an upgrades over Trubisky, but the next time Foles produces big #s for his receivers for a whole season will be his first.
2. I feel there is a fair bit of recency bias going into the comparison of Robinson vs OBJ...OBJ was drafted to be a top 5 guy but produced a WR2 season, and Robinson was drafted to be a WR2 and ended up a low end WR1.

I don't think adding penny does anything for me either. If OBJ is a dollar, you are getting offered 0.75 , a dime, a nickle, and a penny.
Too many teams and lineup changes to keep track of them all.

there's no "Easy Accept" here. But i think im taking the Robinson side. I am the biggest Odell fan to the grave, but im legit concerned about how he synchs up in CLE. he played very injured last year, and Baker was atrocious under Kitchens ... i get it. But they have so many mouths to feed, and unless he gets back the NYG form i not sure he'll be any better than A Rob. At least we can be certain about A Robs large target share and ability to produce with a bottom 5 starter. Pains me to say this

There is enough value there for be to feel confident moving Odell. I am high on Arob though.

I wouldn’t move OBJ for that, even with Penny included. Baker may not have done him any favors last year, but neither did an offense as a whole that was out of sync consistently. Im not a Browns fan by any means but I could see Baker taking a decent step forward after his soph slump. The newly (expected to be) run heavy scheme will do wonders for the play action pass game and will open up the field in general. OBJ was also playing through a hernia. I expect a solid bounce back as well, and while ARob is a nice piece, this still feels like a $.50 cent piece, a quarter, and a few dimes for a dollar.
