J. Burrow v, T. Lawrence

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

J. Burrow v, T. Lawrence

Postby Edgy68 » Wed Mar 25, 2020 9:21 am

For Panthers, I feel my team is ready to challenge for the title. I took 2nd this season, then added J. Jacobs and N. Chubb along with Brees.
My question revolves around my picks. Currently, I have the 1.01 via trade and plan to take Burrow with BPA at 1.08.

There is an owner with 5 picks this year (1.03-1.06, and 1.11) and 4 next year, which includes the pick that will undoubtedly be 1.01 (that team’s pick is the 1.01 this year as well). With my team already set to compete, do I offer this year's 1.01 up for a combo of picks that included next year's 1.01?

I like Burrow and feel he'll do well, but one year of production doesn't make that a certainty. I know it was due to injury and transfer, but We've seen Lawrence perform well more often.

I think I roll the dice with Lawrence. Most experts have him as the best QB prospect since Luck and one of the best QB prospects of all time. I do like Burrow a lot and think he will be a fantastic pro.

I would rather have Lawrence once he comes out.

I think I would roll the dice for Lawrence as well.

Any chance you can offer both of your picks to move up in this draft to 1.03 or 1.04 and get next year's 1st? Just wondering if he takes Burrow at 1.01 you might have a chance at Tua at 1.03.

While I understand this guys whole team is probably in draft picks, I don’t love the idea of trading for something that can only lose value. No pick is guaranteed to be 1.01 a year out. Sounds like he has assets to make other moves, could hit big in draft this year, etc.

The guy who owns all these picks is a fellow contender. The 2021 1st in discussion is from the worst team this year (I have his 1.01 this year). You are correct to say nothing is set, but that team has no draft capital to improve. That’s why I’m contemplating the move.
