Hopkins for Mixon

Postby -THE DUDE- » Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:23 am

In a PPR league would they be a fair trade or would something be needed to one side to equal it out?

WR: AJB, Diggs, ARSB, G. Wilson, Kirk, E. Moore, Mingo, Wicks

I would hold Hopkins or would want something added. I really like Mixon, but Hopkins is valued top 5.

I don't think Hopkins will be a top 5 startup pick at this point. He's also due for regression. Team switches are generally bad for WR's. He will have more target competition, a QB downgrade, and loses his rapport with the QB that he'd developed. He'll still be a good WR, but the odds are against him producing to quite the same level. I would definitely not add a first to Mixon, personally. I personally would be selling, not buying Hopkins. I believe his peak years are behind him.

I would put it down to team need at this point if it were straight up. If you can get a 2020 late 1st added to the Mixon side I would do it.

I think Hopkins for Mixon + late 1st would be fair.

Hopkins over Mixon for me, no questions asked. Mixon is on a crappy team. He has been spotty. Hopkins is QB proof and just went to a team that is going to throw a ton. It does not take much to get used to Hop as your receiver. He is a contested catch kinda guy, not a separator. Just chuck it up and let him go get it. Its what he does best.

I like Mixon and love having Hopkins but feel my WR unit is strong and could use another RB and the team with Mixon is strong at RB but could use another receiver so it’s a natural fit. I feel Hopkins could be starting his regression but still only 27 so I could be way off and he’s another Fitzgerald that performs for awhile.

Any other RB I should perhaps target that I could target that would be fair? Chubb?

Mixon>Chubb

Mixon may be on a crappy team, but that offense will be getting AJG back and adding Burrow. Not to mention getting their 2019 1st rd o-lineman that never played last year. Mixon will have room to operate, as opposed to having Dalton and Boyd as the only other weapons on offense. Also, Mixon wasn't so much spotty, but rather Zac Taylor didn't figure out how he should be utilizing him until later in the year. All of that, combined with Hunt coming back to Clevelend puts Mixon ahead of Chubb for me.
