Miles Sanders value in rookie pick?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Miles Sanders value in rookie pick?

Postby RS_Smoove » Wed Mar 11, 2020 8:41 am

I was offered 1.06 in a SF/PPR league for Miles Sanders. That is a bit light for me. The team that offered 1.06 has 1.04. Was thinking about countering with 1.04 for Sanders. Am I correct in my thinking? Where would you put Sanders value pick wise?

In a SF I’d prefer 1.04, that may be the cutoff point for me.

Never quite sure why people are so eager to trade 2nd year players that were successful as rookies.

Miles was also almost assuredly a top 4-5 pick last year. So you're essentially trading the 5th pick in 2019 that already showed it can produce at a high level for the 4th pick in 2020 that is an unknown.

Would you have traded the 5th pick this time last year for the 4th pick in 2020?

Makes no sense.

Agreed! Sanders looked really good last year, wouldn't be looking to trade him for an unknown right now.

I'm not eager to move him. I was offered something and I'm asking the community what they think of a possible counter. I agree that Sanders was good last year and I was a big fan of his before he was even drafted. With that said, some people may like the top tier of RB's in this years class a bit more. I wouldn't consider that something crazy.

Yes absolutely I would’ve, this draft is by far stronger than last years was considered.
I think the top 2 RBs are better than sanders and I’d take the 2 QBs over him.

Sanders seems to be consistently valued as an early 1st in 1 QB leagues, so in SF roughly the 1.03 - 1.05.

If you're looking to get a QB it would make sense, but taking a skill position player seems like a lateral move with associated risk. He's on a fantastic team and is involved in the passing game. One of the top 3 RBs would need to go to the Chiefs or Falcons for it to be a upgrade IMO.

I’m not sure either of the top 2 QBs are available at the 1.04, but it’s hard to know without landing spot. I’d guess that’s Swift or Taylor there.

It seems people are preferring both Taylor and Swift to sanders, although I’m not sure I swift as much as the rest of people. 1.4 I probably wouldn’t trade for him but would strongly consider moving 1.6, there is no guarantee he can do what he did last year but I am pretty high on him and there’s a good chance he gets a lot of carries and targets next year. This draft is also really stacked with talent and people may prefer what’s out there to miles.

I'm a fan of Sanders. He went 1.8 in my SF last year and I tried pretty hard to get him. I also drafted him in my only redraft league. That said, I think he's a little overhyped. I realize he showed well at the end of the year but is he really a big time difference maker? Howard is likely to leave but how do we know Pederson won't push for another back in a committee? He prefers the RBBC. That offense was very stagnant last year too. No WR went over 500yds. The RB position was heavily relied upon. Assuming the passing game is better, some of that expectation on RBs is unlikely to repeat itself.

I think 1.5 should be his ceiling in a SF. I prefer the two QBs, two WRs, and Taylor over him. Swift is basically even with Sanders in my eyes.

I think right now I would need the 1.03 in a SF league. I might take a later pick after the draft, depending how the landing spots shake out.
