Young team with lots of picks

Postby trader_nation » Sat Mar 07, 2020 5:21 pm

I wish all my teams were like the one below. They aren't. This is my most interesting team by far. I'm not posting this for self-admiration, I actually want advice...

What should I do with 1.01? I was thinking Burrow but now I'm starting to think of trading for someone like Brees and taking Swift or Taylor depending on the landing spot. The reason I don't just want to wait for the draft is that getting someone like Brees might be easier now. Should I bolster my QBs and WRs with veterans now? or is my team so young, I should just take burrow and young draft talent?

SF, TE super-premium (TE 1.5 PPY, 1.5 PPR)

1.01, 1.07, 1.08, 1.12, 2.01, 2.11, 3.01, 3.07, 3.08, 4.04
Murray, Kyler; Roethlisberger, Ben
Barkley, Saquon; Singletary, Devin; Hunt, Kareem; Mattison, Alexander; Harris, Damien,
McLaurin, Terry; Chark, D.J; Gallup, Michael; Harmon, Kelvin; Arcega-Whiteside; Boykin, Miles; Hurd, Jalen; Sims, Steven
Kittle, George; Fant, Noah; Dissly, Will; Smith Jr., Irv; Smith, Kaden

That is a fun young build and will get better through your picks this year. I would keep your build as is and keep adding and 100% take Burrow at the 1.01. I think Burrow will serve you best long term.

Why in the world would you trade for a guy like Brees when you don’t have a competitive team? Keep your picks and take BPA. Take Burrow at 1.01. This isn’t even a question for me.

Don't have a competitive team? I don't think u understand the TE super premium settings. Fair enough, they are rare settings

I think your team is competitive, I would take Burrow at 1.01 still though as you really quite need a QB. Then with 1.07 I would go the best RB as you should be able to get Akers or Dobbins. And would take the best WR at 1.08 and that should be Reagor or Mims (yes Mims is my WR 4-5 group going Lamb, Jeudy, Mims, Reagor and Ruggs/Higgins 5 and 6 just don’t know the order)
Jake Fromm State Farm (12 team PPR SF)
QB: Purdy, ARich (TS), Levis (TS), Bagent, Hall, Rudolph, Fromm
RB: Roschon (TS), Allgeier, Hill, Demercado, McLaughlin, Mitchell, K. Harris, E. Wilson
WR: Addison, London, Jmo, Shaheed, Reed (TS), Pop D, Iosivas, C. Jones, Mooney, T. Palmer, Scott, Tucker, Austin, Gipson, Melton,
TE: Musgrave, Mayer (TS), Trautman, Gray, Jordan
2024: 1.01, 1.07, 2.04, 2.10, 2.11, 3.01, 3.06, 3.07, 3.11

Depends what offers are on the table for 1.1. If you can get a good young qb+ I’m always pro trading back, 1.1 value is usually inflated. (Barkley-esque talents are the exception)
Brees is a non starter for 1.1, he can’t be the best piece you get back..

Thanks for the advice team. For sure Brees not for 1.01, I was thinking 2 01 or 2.11 + my 2021 2nd

Brees has 1 season left, dont overpay. I’m going to offer a 4th for Brees in my league this offseason. The team with Brees is not competitive so I’m thinking they’ll be willing to part with him just to do worse and get a better pick. I wouldn’t pay 1 second even if I had one at this point

Oh, I understand it just fine. And they aren’t that rare, lol. Sure, you might be competitive in the sense that you could maybe make the playoffs, but that team is not competing for a championship. Good luck though.

If so i don’t like it at all. Gave up way too much when you could’ve grabbed Burrow and some top end positional talent. At least you did get a couple of QBs and proven guys which eliminates pick risk.

Chark>=Brown
1.12=Carr
2.01=Haskins
1.01, 1.07, 1.08, 2.11, JJAW>>CMC

I hate lining up trades like that ^^ but this sounds like a case of getting too eager and sending all of your future stock. But at least you have the best RB duo in all of the land.
