Trading out of 1.05

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading out of 1.05

Postby McCafsteez » Tue Mar 03, 2020 7:52 am

Team in Sig...12 Team PPR

An owner just approached me asking if I want to move back from 1.05 to 1.06. What would you want to move back that one draft position. (I am a firm believe that there is a tier drop after 1.05) I also wouldn't mind just trading the 1.05 for player/s since I am contending.

I was thinking of 1.05 for Jacobs..

Notables from other owner's team:

QB: Allen / Brees
RB: Fournette / Jacobs / Henry / Michel
WR: Hopkins / Landry / Campbell
TE: Howard

Picks:

2020: 1.06 / 2.06 / 3.06
2021 1st / 2nd / 3rd
The Other Woman Dynasty League - 12 Team PPR (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex)
QB: Herbert, Lance, Stafford
RB: Bijan, Hall, Cook, Chubb, Mattison
WR: Adams, Hill, Hopkins, Robinson
TE: Waller, Engram
-
You’re in this for Life - 12 Team 0.5 PPR
(QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, TE, 3 Flex)

QB: Fields, Young, Richardson, Smith
RB: Bijan, Gibbs, A. Jones
WR: Metcalf, JSN, Addison, Q. Johnston, Mingo, Rice
TE: Kincaid, Mayer, Gesicki
2024 Picks - (x3) 1sts
-
Dynasty Addiction - 12 Team PPR /SF (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex, SF)
QB: Lawrence, Fields
RB: Bijan, Dobbins, Etienne, Walker
WR: AJ Brown, Godwin, Bateman
TE: Kittle

The 1.05 for Jacobs is a solid deal in my opinion if that is an option. As far as moving back, Campbell is not a bad dart throw if you like him. I could see him making a bit of a jump this year. Other then Campbell, I don't see any great options. Maybe a pick next year?

Is asking for his 2021 1st too steep? I understand the logic is why would he pay a future first to move up one spot, but the player at 1.05 could be absolutely better than the player at 1.06...

It might be steep, but if he wants to move up, he needs to make it worth it for you and that would be worth it. Just for reference, I paid a 2021 1st (likely late) on top of the 1.05 to jump to the 1.03 if that is helpful.

an early second would have me moving back 1 spot.

even suggesting that you think jacobs is a realistic target for you to get with 1.05 is absurd, nobody is trading last years 1.01 who had a fantastic rookie season for a 1.05 thats just common sense.

I think asking for a 2021 1st is perfectly reasonable given the perceived dropoff after the top 5. If able, I would also probably make that deal ASAP to avoid hype building too much on guys like Akers and CEH that might mitigate the urgency to get into the 1.05 by others.

Disagree personally, you can certainly ask but I don’t think it’s worth asking. Maybe 2021 1 and kick back your 2021 2.
I’d be very happy with 1.06 and 2.06 for 1.05 I’m this draft.

I'd want quite a bit more than 1.05 to move Jacobs.

Reason I won't do that is because my second this year is the 2.02. I believe that is a very valuable pick with this nice draft class.
