Mainly talking about the non sexy, 28-33 year old qb2 types. Stafford, Kirk those kinds of guys
I get that they don’t have a ton of value in 1qb just because when you only need one starter and he stability from them doesn’t matter much. But in sf or 2qb I feel like that matters more than upside to an extent.
I was thinking about the kinda piece I’d want to trade away one of them and honestly I think I’d rather Have most of them than tua who is regarded as the 1.2 this year purely because of rookie qb bust chance versus the veteran bust rate at qb being so low.
Am I crazy or does this make sense
Vet qb value in SF thoughts
Re: Vet qb value in SF thoughts
Most people like to buy scratch off tickets. It’s not the bust rate, but the chance to hit the lotto that sells rookie picks. We already know everything about Cousins and Stafford. Long term production plays a part, but there’s nothing like the” I won” feeling.

Re: Vet qb value in SF thoughts
Yeah that’s true, and it’s a lot of what goes into making rookie picks so value, but I just see it as in the end there’s a much larger chance you end up breaking even or worse off with the young guy over a five year sample than with the vet. The old guys probably won’t be a top 8 guy say but I’m really confident they’d be an every week starterrepkllrs wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 12:06 pm Most people like to buy scratch off tickets. Makes sense. Older players in dynasty lose value regardless of production and the current/next rookie class is always the next best thing/greatest pieces. Sometimes knowing what you have and what to expect production wise is a better way to go pending build and hopes for the season.

I can see the argument. I like to have 1 "safe" guy and 1 upside type on my squads. I'm glad I don't have to make any decision about Tua this early.

Re: Vet qb value in SF thoughts
I'd value both Stafford and Cousins around the 1.03, behind only Burrow and Taylor as of right now.

Re: Vet qb value in SF thoughts
As an owner of both, I'd probably only make the trade for 1.1 (Burrow). I would need more for the 1.2 (Tua). How much probably depends on landing spot. I'm a contender so that plays a part. If I'm in a rebuild, I'd likely accept a lesser big piece with add-ons.
Re: Vet qb value in SF thoughts
Stafford was a top 3 QB before he got hurt last year.
I wouldn’t sell either for a first plus.
I sold Cousins early last year for 2019 2.05 (Damien Harris), 2020 first (1.03) and 2020 second (2.03)
