Engram or Irv Smith/2.07/4.04

Which would you prefer in a 1PPR / SuperFlex (so the 2.07 worth a little more than usual), Evan Engram or Irv Smith Jr, 2.07, 4.04

I like Irv and think he has a chance to be a good TE in a year or two, but Engram is still worth much more than him. I'm not sure the 2.07 and a 4th change much.

I am one who voted the Smith side.

I am biased towards getting extra draft picks - though I might counter and try to get a little more back - and also think it's easy enough to go find a serviceable TE. As an Engram owner, you probably know the need for that ability, since he has a propensity for ending up on the IR.

Of course, Kyle Rudolph is holding back Smith's fantasy value, but Rudolph is 30, while Smith is 21, so when he does step in for Rudolph, he'll have plenty of seasons of use left. Also, I like his TD potential, as that is something that has made Rudolph mildly valuable over the years.

Also, as mentioned earlier, Engram's injury history. I don't feel bad about moving that off of my roster.

Not expecting to be competing next year but have enough pieces on both ends of the spectrum to potentially compete sooner than later, as there’s a massive influx in youth about to reload my roster.

Never been a fan of Engram and I like Irv long term, but I have to concede the value is on the Engram side here. I’d probably make the trade, but only with the intention of flipping Engram for more at a later date.

Unless they're hurt at the same time.like last season. I'd rather chance it with Henry and have Irv as a backup. I think he takes a step forward this year. He's young, give him some time to develop.
