Superflex 1.01

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Superflex 1.01

Postby BobLoblaw » Mon Feb 24, 2020 6:23 am

Been going back and forth with the owner of the 1.01 for a few weeks now. Was sent this today in our 12 team SF PPR:

Give: Russell Wilson, Stefon Diggs, 1.11

Get: Carson Wentz, Terry McLaurin, 1.01

Team is built as follows:
QB: Josh Allen, Derek Carr, Dwayne Haskins, Russell Wilson
RB: R. Armstead, C. Edmonds, L. Fournette, J. Hill, Duke Johnson, Ty Johnson, Miles Sanders
WR: AJ Brown, S. Diggs, K. Harmon, D. Hopkins, Tre'Quan Smith, JuJu, J. Watson
TE: M. Andrews, A. Hooper, J. Smith, Irv Smith
Picks: 1.06, 1.11, 2.11, 3.11, 4.11

I will most likely not be targeting a QB with the 1.01 as I want to try and get the most established back with the most clear path to touches. I absolutely loathe Diggs and his erratic performance, so shipping him isn't the end of the world to me. I can't seem to get anywhere with the 1.02 or 1.03 owners and sadly no one is buying the AJ Brown hype machine.

Does this deal help establish my backfield while still keeping my QB's stable enough? I realize there's a lot of volatility in them.

You would still have 3 starting QB's and most likely four, but there is a pretty big drop from Wilson to Wentz in my opinion. Tough call here, but without taking Burrow, I think you are losing a lot of value in SF in this deal.

No point in paying a premium price to get the 1.01 if you aren't taking burrow. That said, I actually think the offer is more than fair and one I would consider. I would then try and trade down though to gain even more draft capital.

This honestly feels like a steal to me...

Wentz and RW are super close to me (I am probably in the minority)...in standard scoring RW had about 40 more points than Wentz but Wentz played without his WR1, WR2, WR3, RB1, RB2, TE1 at certain points all last year. He was throwing to someone named (check notes) Josh Perkins last year.

I have Diggs ranked ahead of McLaurin but if I was in a start up I honestly don't know who I would take first. McLaurin was around 30 points behind Diggs this year but that was during a rookie season with a rookie QB for most of it.

Obviously 1.1 >>>>>>>>> 1.11

To be fair, unless Swift goes into a very nice situation I think the call at 1.1 is still Borrow.

I can't imagine not taking Burrow at 1.01 in a SF. Since you are not going to take him, this is easily the Wilson side for me.

If you aren't targeting a QB with the 1.01, then I see no reason to trade up to there. I don't think you are desparate for RB help (once you re-order your roster to a more appropriate order I think thats obvious). That being said its obviously a weakness for you. If you want to move up during the draft to snag a specific RB, I'd rather move the 1.06 and 1.11 or something like that.

Agree with most of this
And the fact is that acquiring 1.01 gives you options - Take Burrow (probably the right move) or trade back once you're on the clock. You never know what someone will be willing to pay

I would make this deal. Not a huge difference between Russ/Diggs and Wentz/McLaurin for me. The difference between 1.01 and 1.11 easily makes it up imo. I'd take the 1.01 and then trade down a bit to land your RB and another solid piece on top.

Wilson > Wentz
Diggs >= McLuarin
1.11 < Burrow

Comes down to whether you think the gap between Wilson and Wentz is bigger than the gap between the 1.01 and 1.11.

I like it a lot but I also don’t have a big gap between Wilson and wentz. If you aren’t taking burrow you can try and flip 1.1 for 1.2-1.4+

I think it’s a slight overpay to get the 1.01, but you always have to overpay to get the 1.01. If you’re not taking Burrow at 1.01, though, you’d be losing even more value. Have you tried shopping Josh Allen for RB help?

Thank you everyone for your responses, it definitely provides myself with a big more clarity and outside options/avenues to take.

Some of those answers are incredibly detailed and insightful; it's greatly appreciated!
