Targeting A-Rob

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Targeting A-Rob

Postby Prison_Mike » Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:42 am

Looking to add a solid WR to Team 1

There's an owner in my league that loves picks & young players - He sold out for the future in year 1 (2019) and ended up competing lol (mainly because of Jackson/Ingram). I'm thinking he'll go back to rebuild mode this offseason

I'd like to go after Robinson but I'm not sure what I should offer, my team is really top-heavy so it's difficult to trade up to grab a stud. It'd be easier to trade down from Saquon/Zeke but I'll almost certainly lose value in the process, so I don't want to do that

I was looking at this offer - How far off am I?

Give: Preston Williams + Justice Hill + 2021 1st
Get: Allen Robinson + 2021 3rd

Other pieces he'd probably be interested in include Drake, Kirk, Njoku
Team 1:
12-team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Herbert, Kyler, Baker, Jimmy G, Mariota, DTR
RB: Taylor, Saquon, Javonte, Conner, C.Evans, TDP
WR: Chase, Aiyuk, Olave, Diggs, Diontae, Hollywood, MT, Shaheed
TE: Engram, Woods, Kraft
'24 picks: 1.08, 3.05

Team 2:
12-Team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Mahomes, Allen, Russ
RB: Breece, JT, Swift, Javonte, Mostert, Zamir
WR: Chase, Aiyuk, Nico, Kupp, Hollywood, Kirk, MT
TE: Pitts, Njoku, Woods
'24 picks: 4.01

Team 3:
12-Team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Hurts, Dak, Stafford, Z.Wilson, DTR
RB: Saquon, Swift, Achane, Kamara, Ford
WR: Jefferson, AJB, ARSB, Nico, Diontae, OBJ
TE: Goedert, Njoku, Fant, Woods
'24 picks: 4.08, 4.12, 5.12

I wouldn't trade A-Rob for that, but I'm high on him and he can def be pretty undervalued sometimes. Pretty much all the other pieces in the deal have values that are all over the place as well. So don't think it hurts to try.

I'm high on Kirk and Drake so if it came down to one of them + 21 1st I'd probably just hold. But I'd add Njoku to the package pretty comfortably to land A-Rob.

I'm way down on Kirk, so if it were me I'd see how he values him compared to A-rob and see how far apart you are there. Wouldn't be opposed to adding a bit to Kirk for A-rob.

Completely agree that I wouldn't be sending Kirk or Drake without either getting more back or giving less than the 1st

Yeah Preston & Justice values vary greatly - I'm thinking he would see value in owning Justice since Ingram is his RB1 and he might have trouble selling him for fair value

I'm still optimistic about Njoku, and would feel a bit uneasy going into the season with Jonnu & Thomas as my main guys @ TE. But I think Olsen's signing bought me some time to see what I have in those guys

You can try it since you said this owner loves picks and young players, but personally that's an easy reject from me if I were offered that for Robinson. Where is the 2021 1st projected? Assuming your initial offer gets rejected, I think Drake + 2021 1st or Kirk + 2021 1st would be a good counter if the 1st isn't going to be early.

Tough to say, it’s a pretty competitive league and we just added a flex spot

(I finished 5th this season)

Its worth a shot with the other owner liking young players and picks.
