Thoughts on this rookie spreadsheet?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Thoughts on this rookie spreadsheet?

Postby LMS123 » Sun Feb 16, 2020 5:06 pm

I wanted to see what people thought of this. I love rookie draft season so I get big into analyzing data trying to identify sleepers and come up with my own rankings so I make spreadsheets; and would love some opinions. It compiles all players invited to the combine as well as other players I've heard of on PFF or other feeds. It is still a work in progress and I update it with other info as I get it. Most of this data is from the free pages on playerprofiler.com and fantasypros but I like it all in one place.

I like seeing a players original school as well as final school; for RBs, WRs, and TEs it's nice to see if they end at a small school; where they started. If they were good enough to play in the SEC out of high school but ended at a small school you can look and see why they left. If it was play that's bad but if it was off field (while still not ideal) you know its not talent related. Running backs under 200lbs don't become work horse backs in the NFL, so I highlighted the weights in red. I plan on adding combine info after it is available and some scouting report notes; I just don't know a good source for that.

So here we go; I'd love any thoughts and what data you all think could be added to make it better. If the link doesn't work, let me know I've never tried sharing a google docs file before so I'll figure it out.

Also, I know this probably shouldn't be in 'dynasty team advice' but wanted the most people to see it!

Very cool spreadsheet with lots of useful data and more to come from the sounds of it. Nice work and I will refer to the sheet throughout the off season process. Thanks!

Correct, just random. I just add guys in as I hear about them so currently it’s in no particular order

Thank you! I'll definitely add info as it becomes available in coming weeks after the combine. If there's anything additional you think could be added I'd love suggestions!

I can add that! Good call. The target share for running backs is for their most recent season so that's what I'll use for RBs and WRs as well

Update: Done! I also put in completion percentage for QBs because there was a blank column. For TE/WR target share and QB Completion percentage I don't have percentiles but the data is there

Thank you, and I definitely will! I just used the heights and weights listed on playerprofiler.com for now so they are unofficial. The percentiles change from time to time as more players are evaluated so I keep those as up to date as I can as well!
