Offer Kupp for 2020 1.3 or 1.4; Is Kupp enough?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Offer Kupp for 2020 1.3 or 1.4; Is Kupp enough?

Postby Gatorguy7275 » Thu Feb 13, 2020 2:26 pm

I'm new to DLF & this is my 1st post. I'm in a 10 team Keeper League, with 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 TE & RB/WR/TE flex.
MY Team:
QB: Jackson, Ryan
RB; Barkley, M Sanders, Guice, D Harris, C Thompson, P Barber
WR: Kupp, D Samuel, T Boyd, Gallup, D Parker, Hilton, D Johnson, A Miller & P Campbell
TE: Engram, Hooper, I Smith

I hold the 1.2 in the 2020 draft. As of now,I intend to draft RB since I have quality, but not quantity, esp. with Guice's questionable health. I want to make a strong offer for the 1.3, which I would use to get Jeudy or Lamb.
The 1.3 owner's WRs are: JuJu, Cooks, Mike Williams, M Jones, G Tate, E Sanders & Pascal. I think Kupp should be his #2 guy right away, so he might be interested. Of course, he could decide to draft Jeudy or Lamb himself, but Kupp is entering his prime, although he'll be 27 when the season starts. Thus, I might have to sweeten my offer for the 1.3. by adding another WR or pick. If I can't get the 1.3, I would probably offer Kupp straight up for the 1.4 instead.

Also, if I can't get either pick, with my 1.2, would you go RB, & settle for a 2nd or 3rd tier WR, or go Jeudy or Lamb with the 1.2, & then later take best RB available? I also hold the 2.2, 2.6, 3.2 & 4.2 (4rd draft).
I would appreciate any ideas or thoughts. Thanks.
10 team, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, DST, K, 0.5 PPR.

QB: L Jackson, Purdy
RB: J Taylor, A Gibson, B Hall, McKinnon, K Hunt, J McLaughlin
WR: Addison, Aiyuk, Boyd, Chase, Dell, Gallup, Godwin, E Moore, Shaheed
TE: Pitts, Engram,

Why would you sell Kupp for the 1.03 just to grab another WR? Your team is solid, so I'd just stay put and go BPA or best RB at 1.02.

Because:
(1) Jeudy & Lamb are much younger, and
(2) I believe Kupp is a borderline WR !-2, whereas Jeudy or Lamb are deemed to be surefire WR 1s. Of course, nothing is certain.

I would hold Kupp here. Jeudy and/or Lamb may be great, but Kupp has put up wr1 numbers and is not that old.

If you want the 1.03 to draft a WR, using Kupp for it is counterproductive. You can't expect a rookie WR to step in and replace Kupps production. Offer up like TY + Parker for it. If that doesn't work sub out Parker for Deebo or Gallup or somebody and ask for something else back on top of the 1.03. Point is don't give up your only stud WR in a 10 teamer to draft a rookie WR. You'd likely be setting yourself back a year or 2 at least.

Also, Adams for the 1.03 is not a good benchmark to use here. Idk who thought it was a good idea to trade Adams+ for the 1.03 but they shouldn't have. Lol

I'm still undecided, but I appreciate the responses. I'll probably offer Parker or Gallup plus a lower-ranked WR like Miller, Hardman or Johnson & a mid-2nd rd pick for the 1.3. Is that a fair offer?

Gallup + Hardman or Diontae and the mid 2nd would be an overpay for me. I like those 3 WRs a lot.

I'd start by offering Parker + the mid 2nd and try to throw in Miller or Campbell if that wasn't enough.

Thanks, I will try that. If that doesn't get the 1.3, rather than offering more, I might offer that for the 1.4 instead.

I like Lamb and Jeudy obviously but the really out of the ordinary thing about this WR class is its depth. I would not try to consolidate for a top WR and certainly not trade a sure thing in Kupp for a WR when your team projects as a possible contender for next year (depending on RB selected and progress of your current WRs)

Thanks; appreciate your opinion. I was just trying to see if I should replace a productive high-end WR2(Kupp) with a hopefully lock WR1. I will prob keep Kupp & hope my young WRs progress.
