NEED ADVICE ON GURLEY

Postby Kmani6 » Fri Feb 07, 2020 9:03 am

Love Gurley, and I he's gonna ball next year if the oline figures it out. I think McVay is solid and will get things working again. I can also see that chance that Gurley falls off though and I'm worried about it. Considering sending Gurley for Boyd, Kirk, and the 2.8. Boyd and Kirk haven't shown full WR 1 potential yet, but they both are gonna be paired with young QB's and will both probably be high end WR 2's for a while. Don't really care about the 2.8 either because the class got a good amount less deep over the last few weeks. The other thing is I need RB more than I do WR, but always down to trade for value if its significant.

What do you guys think?

I doubt many would be willing to pay Boyd + Kirk + 2.08 for Gurley. If you think you can get that, I'd make that trade ASAP.

DAMN, take that deal and flip Kirk or Boyd for a RB or add the pick with them to move up to take a RB. You are getting the extra WR for free at this point. Gurley value is likely to go down more not up.

Id hold Gurley personally...just don’t like those guys in the package personally.

Also dont see the panic, Gurley was extremely effective in a very limited role last year and I assume LAR will either run him more or trade him if they can to a team that will do so as well.

I am not ready to trade Gurley for that package. A. not a huge fan of the specific WR's, but more importantly Gurley was still effective when used. Is he a top 5 stud, no. Will he still be a red zone target and part of a dynamic offense, yes.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

I'm not particularly high on Gurley, but I'm also not particularly high on those receivers. I'd probably hold. You don't really need those receivers either. Think Gurley is more useful to your roster currently. If you think you can segue one of those two into an addition back though, then I would do it.
Team 1:
Fantasy Slams (est. 2015) - Golly Dagger
1st season: 7-7 (Missed playoffs)
2nd season: 7-6 (1st rd exit)
3rd season: 6-7 (Missed playoffs)
4th season: 11-2 (League Champ)
5th season: 9-4 (1st rd exit)

.5 PPR, 6pt TD, 4pt TD Pass, 25 roster, 14 team (6 Playoffs), 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1LB, 1DL, 1DB, 1 Flex IDP:

QB: Jackson, Darnold
RB: Mixon, Gurley, Guice
WR: Cooper, Golladay, Metcalf, Campbell, Boykin, Isabella, Ross, Dulin
TE: Kittle, I. Thomas
DL: J. Bosa
LB: Darius Leonard, Barrett, Esche
DB: Collins

I think there’s a legit case that Boyd=gurley. Gurleys value at this point is probably a mid-late first imo And that’s about what Boyd’s is too

The one league where I have Gurley, I'd probably accept that. But it's a rebuilding team and I've been trying to offload Gurley for 2 years without any takers, even cheap.
If you're not totally on board with that, then the best time to strike might be in season when your thesis that he will do well when LAR "gets the oline figured out" comes to fruition and Gurley starts getting consistent production. But the downside is that it doesn't occur and you won't get this return a year from now.

Yeah I mean you’re totally right. It’s just a weird situation to be in right now for us Gurley owners

As an Gurley owner myself I'm not finding any takers in him either. He might as well have herpes. The thing I'm most worried about is that they could realistically cut him prior to the March roster bonus deadline. If he's on the roster after that deadline he automatically gets a guaranteed bonus in 2021 for 7.5 mil. He had a 5 mil bonus for 2020 that kicked in last March for being on the roster at that time. His contract has language that escalates the bonus a year in advance. His agent did him a solid, but now I fear that may get him cut to avoid the 2021 7.5 mil bonus. If he gets cut he'll resign, but where?
