1.02 vs 2 x 2021 1st (top 6)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.02 vs 2 x 2021 1st (top 6)

Postby Mika1205 » Wed Jan 29, 2020 7:13 am

Really want to hear some adivce on this:

What would be best for my team:
1.02
or
2 x 2021 1st (top 6)

I know we can't project picks that far away, but it is the 1sts from two teams that is by far the worst in the league, with no real draft capital and only one or two assets worth anything.

League settings
12 team, 0.5 ppr, 30 man rosters.
Start: 1qb, 2rb, 3wr (4wr from 2021 season), 1 te, 1flex, 2lb, 2db, 1def.

Team
QB: Watson, Teddy B
RB: Penny, Royce, Duke, J. Hill, Armstead, Gaskin
WR: Deebo, Boyd, Mike Williams, Slayton, Dede, JJAW, Sims, Reynolds, Allison, Agholor, Higgins
TE: Andrews, Hockenson, Ian Thomas
LB: D. White, Schobert, L. David
DB: Abram, E. Reid, Rapp
Def: Patriots, Jets

Picks
2020: 1.02, 1.05, 1.09, 2.03, 2.06, 3.02
2021: 2nd, 2 x 3rd, 2 x 4th
2022: 1st, 2 x 2nd, 2 x 3rd, 2 x 4th

I would hold the 1.02 and keep building. I would look for another way to acquire future 1st's to help with your rebuild.

I would do the trade.

Your team is in desperat need of running backs. 1.02, 1.05 and 1.09 will not get you the 3 RBs your team need. The issue is that you don't have any 2021 1sts. So building in 21 is not an option right now.

I would do the trade and get 2x 2021 1st (if you are sure that they will be top 4).
Go RB or just best player available on 1.05 and add to Deebo, Mike Williams, Boyd and Slayton with 1.09 and your 2nds.

Now you will have 2x early 1st in 2021 and are in a great position to add RBs or trade down and add extra value.
I see this trade putting you in a much better position from 2021 and forward. I don't see you competing in 2020 anyway, so making the trade is the best way to go IMO

The other part has 6 x 2021 1sts with 5 of them projecting to be top 6 picks.

I think it’s fairly even in value. But I’d take the sure thing in the 1.02. A lot can change over the course of a season.

I would counter those two for your 1.05 or three of his 6 2021 first for the 1.02.
Say you belive that their is 3 guys that you belive is studs, and by trading that pick Away, you loose out on all of them.

I bet you can get more. I bet that he hates having 6 1sts next year when this year is the draft to wanted 6 1std.
