Mixon and Lottery 1st (1.01-1.04, 4th best odds at 1.01) for Zeke??

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Mixon and Lottery 1st (1.01-1.04, 4th best odds at 1.01) for Zeke??

Postby krtbuckeye » Sat Jan 25, 2020 8:25 pm

Zeke owner made an offer and I countered with Mixon/1st lottery (1.01-1.04, 4th best odds at 1.01) for Zeke

Is this an overpay for Zeke?

Yes, I'd take Mixon and the pick easily. That early first could be another RB1. These are the types of trades I'm against. It's a minor upgrade in terms of how many match ups it will ever determine the outcome over (Mixon vs Elliott) and you are giving up a premier rookie who could be another difference maker in your starting lineup.

Agree. I would take Mixon and the pick easily over Elliott. Not much value there for you.

I don't see the appeal of this deal, but I'm high on Mixon. I would easily hold that side with the pick range.

I agree that I wouldn't do this deal but this statement is jumping ahead a bit. Every year Zeke was supposed to be only a minor upgrade to Mixon but every year he's been a huge upgrade to Mixon (outscored Mixon by 5ppg each of the last 2 years). Zeke outscored Mixon last year by as much as Mixon outscored Duke Johnson. It was a big difference.

Thanks all! I guess the reason I was considering this deal was mainly Zeke being just a year older than Mixon and actually being locked into a long-term contract. Whereas Mixon is going into the last year of his rookie deal with no 5th year option. I think the Bengals O will be vastly improved, at least from a fantasy friendly perspective, but Mixon not being locked in for a few more years at this point had me considering this.

Not to mention Zeke’s 83% snap count to Mixon’s 60% lol

If anything, that should be a selling point for Mixon. The sooner he gets out of Cincy, the better. It’s hard to imagine his situation getting worse.

Sure, but how many matchups will be determined by having Elliott over Mixon? A few a year at most, IMO. The amount of times you lose by 5 points, isn't very often. Not enough to remove another starting caliber player (the 1.01-1.04) out of your lineup, that's for sure.

If your argument is that Mixon will be a lot closer to Zeke in scoring going forward than I am right there with you.

If your argument is that 5ppg isn't much of a difference in fantasy football scoring then I am not.

5ppg is a huge difference in fantasy football. It's the difference between Nick Chubb and Jamaal Williams. It's the difference between Alvin Kamara and Philip Lindsay. Between Chris Godwin and Jarvis Landry. Between Davante Adams and Jamison Crowder. Between George Kittle and Dallas Goedert.

If you're saying that 5ppg is minimal in FF and that it's not worth paying much for a 5ppg upgrade I doubt you'll find many that agree. I like you and probably most expect Mixon to close that gap with Zeke this year but we've expected that the last 2 years as well and if it doesn't close then it certainly won't be a "minor" difference.

I would be willing to add a late 1st to Mixon in order to acquire Zeke, but not a top 4 pick(potentially the 1.01)
