1.02 or 1.06 & 1.08

Postby Steelersxx6 » Fri Jan 17, 2020 2:54 pm

So this year i have picks 1.01, 1.03, 1.06, 1.08,1.10, 2.01, 2.03, 2.12

A couple weeks ago the guy with the 1.02 offered me the 1.02 for the 1.06 and 1.08, and i declined thinking this was a deep class but with a few guys staying in school im thinking of starting up negotiations again.

I obviously have a ton of picks and planned on trading a few near draft day due to roster size constraints, but what do u guys think of this deal?

I prefer the 2 picks, but it would be nice to have the top 3 picks in the draft. I just think the depth is good enough that I'd hold, right now. To land Dobbins, Swift and Jeudy, or Taylor would be sweet, though. I'd want a 2nd or something coming back to give up 2 mid firsts, though.

I would add the 1.02 here and have your pick of the three top prospects.

1.02. Wouldn’t care about 2 later picks when you’ll get 3 of the top 4 in talent.

Your team looks in more need of RB than WR. With ETN staying in college I think you gotta go for the 1.02 to assure you get yourself the top 2 RBs of this class

I voted for the 2 picks before I saw your team. After seeing your team, I agree with the above that I would rather have the 1.02 to have the top three picks and get 2 top Rbs and 1 top Wr. Hell I might even go RB RB RB.

I'd take the 1.02 pretty easily here. Guys are going back to school and not everyone is gonna land in an ideal spot so I think it's gonna be real nice for you having the top 3 choices in this draft. Plus you still have a bunch of late 1sts and 2nds to play with.

I think the value is on the 1.06 and 1.08 side, especially this year. This is one of the deepest classes in years. I'm in full rookie prep mode and I've heard from more than one draft scout source that this class has an extremely elevated number of first round grades. Average class normally has about 17-18 true first round grades. The numbers I've heard so far are around 30 players with first round grades. Now, to be fair that includes all NFL positions and it's early in the process, but they made a point to say this is an abnormally deep class. I think that carries over into the skill positions, which is what fantasy is focused on.
How about trying a little exercise to see what you like better. Out of the top ranked rookies in an rough order that I see frequently from some highly thought of dynasty and devy guys, which scenario do you prefer?
1 Swift
2 Taylor
3 JK/ Lamb/ Jeudy
4 JK/ Lamb/ Jeudy
5 JK/ Lamb/ Jeudy
6 CEH
7 Akers
8 Reagor / Ruggs / Edwards

That's just an rough list as of today. Arguments can be made about other players here and there on the list, and combine metrics and landing spots will likely change things. It's just an exercise to think through potential options, and which one you might prefer.

My main problem with trading the two for one is loss of value, and I don't think there's enough of a difference between Swift/ Taylor/ Jk vs CEH and Akers as of today to justify the trade. I'd rather have 4 of the top 8 vs just the top 3, but that's just my opinion. It's your team and you should think it though and absolutely do what you feel is best.
