Getting out on Cook

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Getting out on Cook

Postby mattyhills » Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:29 am

Seems like many of us are trying to sell high on Dalvin these days. I'm torn given my team make-up (below, poised to win now), but don't want to pass up an opportunity to sell at peak value either...curious if anyone is buying Cook right now and can convince us we're crazy. If selling, what do you think of either of these possibilities:

Cook and Deebo FOR DJ Moore and Sutton - I would be loaded at WR, and likely look to flip someone to address RB depth if I went this route. I could potentially ask for Montgomery on top of these two, not sure if I'd get him though.

Cook for 1.03 and 1.09 - is this enough to give up a (current) top 5 RB?

I personally would not sell for 3 and 9 if competitive and really dont think its that close tbh.

Moore and sutton i like if you want to get out, but if competitive....not sure that makes sense. Really depends on starting requirements and your scoring format.

Own cook in a few leagues, id consider moving him if the offer was right but not actively shopping him.

I think if you could get moore and sutton...would be nice, but not sure thats probable in most leagues.

If your team is competitive and in win now mode, I would not be selling Cook. I especially would not be selling him with your roster. You have no RB depth at all. If you did sell him, I would not sell him unless I was getting a good young RB back as part of the return package.

Piling on. I would hold Cook if you are looking to make a run in the next year or two. The Moore and Sutton package is great long term, but I would not include Samuel.

Thanks all - might just have needed some reassurance that holding could be the right move. This is further complicated by the fact that the owner who has Mattison is completely unreasonable in trade offers. I've sent multiple offers, some of them a slight overpay, and can't get anywhere. For example, I was once asked for two 2020 1sts...

I'd sell Cook. He is going into his last year as a Viking. May or may not get the $$ he desires. The Vikings are dead last in cap space so gonna be tricky if he wants Zeke money. Cook has missed 18 games already in his 3 year career. He just had another shoulder injury and I believe he's already had two shoulder surgeries. Maybe the Vikings pay him Zeke money and let others go. Or maybe Cook gets another injury filled season in 2020 and they go to Mattison in waiting or someone else.

I’m a fellow skittish Cook owner mulling “selling high,” but what I’m realizing as I see more and more of these topics is that, well, if everyone’s trying to sell him, that’s not really selling high, now is it? Whether it’s the late-season injury or the contract status, Cook is not currently returning value in the market like the top 5-6 startup guy he objectively is. If I’m not getting that value, why am I moving him? Is he suddenly a MUST-sell? No.

If you wanna get out, Moore and Sutton isn’t bad (if you can not include Deebo). 3 + 9 doesn’t do it for me. I was mulling 1 + 7 and still ultimately decided it wasn’t enough.

Deebo looks really promising, hell, he looks better than Sutton did last year. I don't think I could send Cook and Deebo for Moore and Sutton and I love DJM and own Sutton. I've been trying without success to get Deebo, I think he looks great.

I agree, Moore and Sutton without Deebo if you really want out. Otherwise I'd hold.
