Curtis Samuel Value

Postby DLF_TylerK » Wed Jan 15, 2020 10:10 pm

Give: 2020 23rd overall + 2021 2nd
Get: Curtis Samuel

Thoughts? I thought with the air yard differential and Rhule coming in that Samuel is an excellent buy and he’s still young.

I personally like him. Word was good all the way up to the season, but qbs couldn't get him the ball deep most of the time. Once a qb starts feeding him deep i think it will open up the rest of his tree. Bad that mccaffrey takes up so many targets but more so dj Moore's area of expertise. I think I'd do it but i can see why others may prefer the picks.

I like Curtis as a possible bye week/injury fill in type guy. In a 10 team league though, I think the 2021 2nd is the best piece here.

I understand that. I just expect Samuel's value to skyrocket in that new LSU system coming in. I think people haven't realized that yet and I felt that this was a move I had to make right now before the hype train takes off.

Until they have a QB and prove that they are gonna throw the ball consistently to anybody not named CMC or DJM I don't think there's gonna be any hype train. I like Samuel as a player but not overly confident he's gonna become somebody you can count on in fantasy.

I'd try to counter with 2021 2nd straight up for Samuel, but 3.03 + 2021 2nd seems pretty cheap for Samuel if he's your guy.

He’s 100% my guy. The air yards differential is ridiculous for him. I think he’s talented and is overshadowed by a far more talented WR in Moore who I also like. Also, he’s a FA after 2020 and he’ll hit the market at 24 so if the Panthers can’t pay up, he could be in line for a massive deal based on what he’s shown.

Given the poll is close here, I’m satisfied with this trade.
