What to do with pick 1.2 and 1.9. HELP!

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What to do with pick 1.2 and 1.9. HELP!

Postby JockPostDT » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:22 am

I inherited this team in a 16 team Salary Cap dynasty PPR league. 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF

QB- Cutler, Sanchez, Haney
RB- Hillis, Moreno, Michael Bush, J. Stewart, Rashard Jennings
WR- Bowe, Earl Bennett, Hartline
TE- need to pick up in FA
K- need to pick up in FA
DEF- Need to pick up in FA

I won't have a problem picking up a serviceable WR2, TE, K, and Def in the FA auction (have plenty of cap space), so I am not concerned there. I have picks 1.2 and 1.9 in rookie draft who I am able to red shirt for up to 2 seasons if I choose.

Im thinking I need to go with Green (if he is there) or Jones at 1.2 to address future WR concerns (Bowe is on contract through '12 but I should be able to resign, and any WR I get in FA auction will only be a 1 year contract)

At 1.9, my thought is to snatch up J. Baldwin or Leshour, Thomas, or Williams (if they are there.... who knows).

At RB, Hillis is franchised and I won't lose him until I remove tag. Moreno and Bush are here through '12, Stewart is free agents after this year and I'm guessing will be tough to resign after big year (i hope), and Jennings is mine through '13.

My dilema is what to do at 1.9.

Is this RB core solid enough to pass on Leshour/Thomas/Williams if they are available? If they aren't, is Vereen or Helu a better pick than Baldwin? I also have pick 2.8 and 2.10 to potentially address RB if I go Baldwin at 1.9. I want to snatch up Rudolph at 2.10 because TE is thin on FA wire at this point. Will he last?

Given the team above, should I be happy with these top 4 picks?

1.2 - Green/Jones
1.9 - Baldwin OR Leshour/Thomas/Williams OR Helu/Vereen
2.8 - next tier RB or next tier WR... depending on who I take at 1.9
2.10 - Rudolph

Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

I'm taking the BPA Wr at both 1.2 & 1.9 if I'm you. Preferably AJ & Little. I doubt Litlle would be there at 9, so either Baldwin or Hankerson.

You've got to go WR at 1.2 and 1.9 with that roster, you are desperate for them.

You like little over Hanky, even given Browns situation? Not the most dynamic offense on the planet...
