2 TE league

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2 TE league

Postby TZ2000 » Sun Jan 12, 2020 1:35 pm

I’m in a QB, 2TE, 6 Flex, SF league, picking kickers as placeholders for rook pics.
PPR, QBs 6 point passing TDs
My start is Watson, Nuk, DJ Moore, Aaron Jones
So after I took AJones in 4 Hockenson went. Before my AJones selection Kittle, Kelce, Ertz, Andrews, Engram, Waller were off the board. Question is this way to early to be taking TEs with the value on board or am I missing something?

With a 2 TE league, it's seems pretty important to have one big TE. Also with the 6 points for QB TD's and this being a SF, I would be looking to get another solid QB.

In that format you should grab the best TE available with your next pick.

WR: MT, Amari, Kupp, Pittman, Miller, Agholor, John Brown, Enunwa, Foster, Wilson, Preston Williams, AB
TE: Kelce, Kittle, Tonyan, Davis, Dissly, Knox, T.Moss

Team 2:
Q-SF-R-R-W-W-F-F-T-T-D-K-IDP-IDP PPR
QB: Mahomes, TLaw, Darnold, Bridgewater
RB: Zeke, Swift, Singletary, Dillon, Mack, Penny, LMurray
WR: MT, DJ Moore, Sutton, Slayton, Tyler Boyd, Mims, Edwards, Van Jefferson, Miller

No Hoop, my bad he was picked before my AJones pick. I was targeting Hoop. The board has the Rook 1.4, Golloday, Diggs, Keenan, Gurley, Gordon, Kupp, Miles Sanders, AJ Brown, Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Winston, Danny. The top available TEs are Fant and Goedert it’s tuff to pass on the board for that

you could just try something and go with a 0TE strategy then pick up like Njoku and Vance McDonald later in the draft
Jake Fromm State Farm (12 team PPR SF)
QB: Purdy, ARich (TS), Levis (TS), Bagent, Hall, Rudolph, Fromm
RB: Roschon (TS), Allgeier, Hill, Demercado, McLaughlin, Mitchell, K. Harris, E. Wilson
WR: Addison, London, Jmo, Shaheed, Reed (TS), Pop D, Iosivas, C. Jones, Mooney, T. Palmer, Scott, Tucker, Austin, Gipson, Melton,
TE: Musgrave, Mayer (TS), Trautman, Gray, Jordan
2024: 1.01, 1.07, 2.04, 2.10, 2.11, 3.01, 3.06, 3.07, 3.11

I did a similar start-up in August. Super flex, 2 rb, 3WR , 3 flex , 2 TE. All tds are 6 points and TE receives 2 PPR! I went 0 TE and grabbed Herdon in rd 11 ( didn’t work out). Went Gesicki rd 13, Josh Oliver 14 etc. So after my core at the WR and QB spots were solid I then pounded TEs. Grabbed Higbee in rd 25 with some other darts throws mixed in. Worked amazing. I lost in the finals by 1 point ( thanks to Diggs getting shutout in the 4th quarter on MNF). So you can go some sort of 0 TE and still do well. I went Wilson and Lamar so that helped. Good luck. Im taking AJB with your pick rn.

Njoku just went in 5 before Diggs, Kupp, Gordon, and all the QBs owner has zero QBs with starting QB pool dwindling. Plus the rook 1.4 is still in play. thanks xclick

Yeah man, at this point the next 15 TEs could all finish anywhere next year. I’d keep getting the stud Wrs and QBs.

In this format I would have gone QB and TE with my first 4 picks. Too late for that now.

Looks like you didn’t adjust your draft strategy based on the league format. Best bet at this point is to keep trying to get value and maybe use your depth to try and make a trade or two. Good luck with that though.

You could also try loading up on QBs and TEs and hoping to hit on a couple.

Kind of dug yourself a big hole here though.

I'd worry more about getting a QB more than anything. If you can get a second stud QB, TEs will be somewhat easier to figure out. I hate this whole kicker for rookie pick thing, but might even consider doing that just to be able to draft Burrow if most of the good QBs are already gone.
