Draft pick trades

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Draft pick trades

Postby Hankybro21 » Sun Jan 12, 2020 11:30 am

Team 2.

League has a rule that we need to cut as many players as we have picks. I dunno why. I Currently have 8 picks so I will eventually try to consolidate. Nothing is close at the moment, I am just thinking ahead.

What would be a reasonable trade with picks 13+14? Would that net 1.05 or am I looking more at 1.09?

I think the 1.09 might be a more realistic target to move up.

1.09 range would be the lowest I think you could get. 1.05 is out of reach IMO

I agree with the 1.09. That's an interesting rule. Really it makes sense, like if you don't have Taxi squads then you'd have to cut players to make room for your rookies anyway

Yea the rule in theory is okay, what we run into is that our rosters are far too small so the cuts get painful. We start 15 but only roster 28, and have no taxi squad. Then apparently the penalty for not cutting down the proper amount is the loss of your highest draft pick. Hopefully a vote this offseason will find a happy medium somewhere.

Agree...Heck you can even start with the 1.07, no harm in trying.

Well, I have 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8. So 4, 5, 9, and 10 would be the only trade up options. I guess I can always trade them for 2021 1st's or add a bit to try to get to 5.

I figured 13+ 14 would be a long shot for #5.

I was able to move my 10th and 12th overall for the 1.05. Anything's possible, but I'd think it's a slight stretch to get the 1.05 with 13 and 14. I'd certainly offer it and see. I'd settle for the 1.08 if the 1.05 passes, but if the 1.08 says no then I'd try to package them for the 2021 class.

If you have that many 2020 1sts already you definitely don’t need to trade into the 1st round again. I’d hold both 2nd’s until closer to draft day, then move them for a 21 1st I on a poorer team. That way with a bit of luck you can have a top 5 1st next year. The WR class is also pretty solid next year as well.

10 Man, Full PPR, .2 PPC, Double Flex

Dynasty Team 2:

10 Man, Half PPR, Double Flex

QB: Tua
RB: Barkley , Mixon, Javonte, Jacobs, CEH
WR: AJB, Tyreek, Lamb, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Kittle

2022 Picks: 1.5, 1.6, 2.3
2023 Picks: 2 x 1st, 2 x 2nd

In that case, use some of those picks and get some proven studs.

Good call I like that approach. As of now I have my own 2021 1st as well as the 2021 1st of the worst team (by far) in the league. Would prolly be best to try to get lucky and get another early 1st for next season for Fields/Lawrence or a top 2 WR

I think the play here is actually to package a player with a pick to upgrade your team. I wouldn't try consolidating picks in this year's draft.

As others have said, I'd look to package a combination of picks and players to upgrade to an elite player. I'd go after a young elite player. You have plenty of picks to do it with, while still keeping your early picks and grabbing Burrow at 1.
