Rebuild

Postby Dynastytrash » Fri Jan 03, 2020 1:51 am

My team is currently in a rebuild. I sold off most pieces worth anything throughout the season and have made a few trades since. You can see my current team below. I recently moved my final year of TY Hilton for Freeman. And traded my 1.3 pick for Adams and Crowder.

I still have picks 1.7, 1.9, 2.1, 3.8, 3.9, 4.9 and 4.11 as well as four 2021 1sts, two 2021 2nds, two 2021 3rds, and four 2021 4ths.

I know I need big help at RB mainly. Wondering if I should hold onto my first 3 picks and look for RBs in the draft or see if I can use these picks to trade for someone? And if so, who would be good to try to buy?

Also worth mentioning I'm currently over the cap and have to cut players, but as you can see, lots of options there.

I'd try and move 1.9 and first 1st (or players) to move up to say 1.5. Then you should be able to get at least one (or more) rookie RB at 1.5 or 1.7.

If you are in a rebuild, why would you trade for Freeman? I’d look to move him for whatever you can get. Not sure what you are doing with AP either.

I’d hold all of your picks and draft BPA. Your team needs a lot of help.

I would move your older players for the best offer you can find and go BPA for your picks. Be patient and keep building through the draft and smart moves.

You should absolutely shop the picks between now and when they are on the clock. If you find good value, take it. If you don't, draft BPA.

I got AP as a throw in during the season for another trade I made. Tired all year to move him and no one was interested. Not even to make a deal of AP + 5th round pick for a 4th round pick.

I got Freeman because that was the absolute best offer ingot for Hilton. I couldn't keep Hilton any longer than the 2020 season and I had been trying to move him all last season. So rather than ride it out with him for another season, I took what I could. (This league absolutely hates anyone approaching 30 years old.)

You couldn’t keep Hilton? Is this a contract league or something because I’d rather let TY die on my roster than trade him for Freeman. That’s a bad trade.

Based upon the wording used in the original post, yes, it's safe to assume it's a contract league.

It is a contract league. Hilton was in the final year on my team and there's nothing I could have done to keep him past 2020. No one gave him any value in this league. This league values youth over any kind of proven talent. Freeman and Smith for Hilton was the best offer I had received for him in the past year. One of the other offers I got was Hilton and 1.9 for M. Brown. So I took Freeman and I'm hoping he either has a huge year or that I can flip him.
