What to do with AJG and Thielen

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What to do with AJG and Thielen

Postby Dunville » Tue Dec 31, 2019 3:38 am

Hi Team 1,

I’ve just won the Championship so feeling pretty good. However I did get pretty lucky at time having the second lowest points against. I’d consider my roster the 3rd/4th best roster in the league.

I feel I could compete again if these two bounce back, but am very aware of the cliff in value for these two.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I'd hold Thielen until a month or so after the SB. Give him some distance from this down year and his value should rebound close to what it was. AJG may be a hold until he's on his new team. His value has dropped steadily for a few years now, and at this point he's probably worth more on your roster.

I would be looking to move both wr's but only if the price was right. I think Thielen hit his peak value after last season and will continue to decline, I would want out but would not give him away either. Hopefully he has a strong post season and that drives his price again for the off season. A mid to late 1st would make me think. Green is so hard to judge, but I would move asap for any 1st in 2020 if that comes along. Unlikely, but still...

I think you could safely get a 2020-2 from a contender for AJG. I’m in a similar predicament with Thielen. In my opinion his value won’t match his production for the rest of his career ( much like Fitzgerald). I would probably hold onto him unless someone overpays.

I’d say Thielen could be a sell this offseason, the return would still be worth it. For Green I’m just going to hold my share, his upside is worth more than his trade value to me

I would take any first for either of those guys, but not sure who would pay that. You might be able to package both for a solid package, which might be your best route.

Agree with others though to hold right now unless you get a first.

I'm torn on AJG as well. Honestly, I think I would trade him if I could get anything of value for him. My problem is that I have him in a salary cap league and his salary is too high, so no one will take him. So for me, it's either keep him and his high salary, or cut him. I will probably keep him unless his salary causes cap problems.

If I could get a 2020 2nd, I'd take it.

I'd sell Thielen for a mid/late 1st. I doubt anyone is willing to pay a 1st for Green right now, so I'd hold him and hope that he goes to a good landing spot in free agency to boost his value.
