Raheem Mostert

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

And how about before week 12? Or Breida last year? They're proof that just because Mostert is the one having success now, doesn't mean it's going to continue. Enjoy wasting your time and trade assets on him when he goes back to being JAG in a RB committee next year.

There is one of these examples each year. Damien Williams, Alex Collins, Jay ajayi to name a few this past year. Be cautious with recency bias.

Obviously he could become the next breakout 27yo, but it's just not likely. Very very few RB increase their value after their rookie contract.

I agree with this in theory but it seems like most people aren't valueing him in the same range as those guys(mid first), there's worse ways to burn a mid-late 2nd than taking a shot on a guy like him

I agree he is worth as much as a dart throw, but just looking at 2019 (a bad class?) draft in my league a 2nd got you 6 of 10 solid prospects:
Hollywood
Deebo
Fant
AJB
Singletary
Hardman

I'd have a hard time taking mostert over any of these 6 players which tells me he probably isn't worth a mid 2nd, especially the way picks are being valued for 2020.

Playing devil's advocate, you could have ended up with Butler, D Henderson, Boykin, Isabella, JJAW, Damien Harris, Kelvin Harmon, Bryce Love etc. It goes both ways, but I understand the hesitation. I think his value is probably around a late 2nd/early 3rd, I just think the upside is worth gambling on at those prices

I would absolutely be buying for a late 2nd if I'm a real contender. He's played well enough to deserve a role next year in SF, I'd say his 2020 floor is an RB2/3. We've seen his ceiling is RB1 weeks with a high weekly ceiling due to big play ability. Even if he splits time at the start of the season, we know he's a week / league winner if other backs go down.

Mostert is under contract for 2 more years at low value. 49ers have an out on Coleman's contract now and Breida is a free agent this summer. They seem unlikely to draft a rookie high based on how thoughtful team has been built so far, so unless they bring in Melvin Gordon his competition won't be significantly higher than this year.

If you're contending seems like a cheap option with low risk. In a redbuild it's an obvious sell for whatever you can get situation.
Team 1: 2019 Rebuild | 12-Team SF / TE Premium
QB: Dak, Wentz,
RB: Akers, Dillon, Rojo, Damien Harris
WR: AJ Brown, Lamb, Ridley, Shenault, Campbell
TE: Pitts, Logan, OJ Howard, Hooper, MAC
