Raheem Mostert

Postby LMS123 » Sun Dec 29, 2019 10:20 pm

What are we thinking for Mostert going into the offseason? They still have Coleman and Brieda, and potentially Jerrick McKinnon but could move one or two during the offseason. Mostert is clearly their RB1 right now but in that RBBC that's a volatile spot. He's been fantastic weeks 12 on, including tonight: YPC, TD's, receiving, he's done it all.

Is he a sell high, a hold, a buy low? Any thoughts?

Latest Post:

I wanted to re-bring this up;

Brieda is basically out of the offence; and for the first time tonight with Coleman going down, Mostert got to be the every down back and ruined Green Bay. Still would be a sell or hold but if looking to sell what would his value be? One resource I use says 2.10 roughly and another says early second. The hype train will be at an all time high if he can have another big day 2 weeks from now.

Any thoughts on his value?

I would try to sell high. He has flashed for sure, but they have decent talent all around and most likely will be looking at a committee approach. You could hold and gamble that he, or someone else, gets traded but if no one does then next year looks like a timeshare for sure. Even better, try to sell off the whole backfield so you don't have to deal with the headache of deciding who to start.

I’d sell if you can get anything of value. I think most owners are aware of the RBBC approach the 49ers take. Personally I’m holding into the offseason to hope he can establish himself as the lead of said committee.
Mostert is a special teams monster so he’s not going anywhere.

Sell him. He's this years Damien Williams in my mind. His value is unlikely to get much higher, and easily can go much lower. Even if it goes higher I'd be willing to sell out now for something since Mostert likely cost you nothing.

Piling on. Selling high is the way to go in my opinion. Mostert has looked really good at times but I doubt he ever gets a real shot at a high end workload. If there is a good deal that comes up this off season, I would jump on it.

Depends on what you can get. SF will likely continue using a messy RBBC, but Mostert should be the incumbent for the lead role going into next season. I'd need at least an early 2nd to sell.

Definitely a sell high for me...but not sure he's worth much on the market.

The only difference being that people were debating whether Williams was worth a 1st
I think Mostert's price caps out at a 3rd

Agree with others that I'd need a 2nd to sell....otherwise, hold

I'd avoid trading for a pick, instead i'd trade it for a player who is a possible buy low. Last off season I traded D. Williams for K. Hunt. It was before Hunt signed with Cleveland and before NFL draft so I may have been able to get a little more value than that had I held for a bit. I will say the big difference is that there were people thinking that D. Williams would be a bellcow, no one is saying that in SF this year. I'd probably hold onto Mostert for now, unless you can get an early 2nd and hope he pulls off a great postseason.

He is the ultimate sell high. Trade him for a pick or a buy low player, but he is a sell high prospect.

I sold for Bryce Love weeks ago and hate myself for it.
I think you guys can sell for a lot more now 😂.
I think maybe mid second would be the most that said though. For 2.10 I'd probably hold and cross my fingers he gets signed.

I mean, if you can get a great package for him, I don't have a problem selling him, but I personally would hold him. He's always been talented and looked like a stud when he has played, but he's always been bunched up with guys like Breida and Coleman. I'd be willing to take the risk that the 49ers finally realize what they have in Mostert and will give him the starting gig going into next year.

I think he could sneak into the top ten, at least top 15 of RB's next season, and his value could go up even more. He more than passes the eye test, always has, now he's also racking up the stats.

Saquon, CMC, Zeke, Kamara, Chubb, Jacobs, Dalvin, Henry, Aaron Jones, Mixon is 10; you seriously think he has any chance of passing any of them? What about Bell, Gordon, Sanders, Hunt, Swift, Taylor, Dobbins, Fournette; you taking him over any of them? He's going to be 28 next year and had 42 career carries before this season after entering the league in 2015. He's a flash in the pan who is worth holding if you own or flipping if you can, but he is absolutely not remotely in top 10 RB conversations or giving up anything of value for.
