Rams TE to own... Gerald Everett or Tyler Higbee?

Postby Life of Pablo » Fri Dec 13, 2019 7:39 am

I don't know how I got into this predicament, but I'm currently holding both Rams TEs at the moment. I'll only be able to carry one of these guys onto on my roster next year.

My question is simple. Who would you rather bet on long-term for fantasy production? Or are both of them good (or bad) long-term bets?

My guts keeps telling me that Everett has a chance for sustained success after seeing his mini-breakout earlier this year. Not to mention that compared to Higbee, he was the better prospect and is 1.5 years younger. But Higbee's looked great the last couple weeks so now it has me reconsidering.

Perhaps it's just a situation to avoid altogether? A quick search shows me that all of their major weapons (Gurley, Kupp, Cooks, Woods, Everett, Higbee) are signed through at least 2021, so unless the Rams offense can start looking like 2018 again, there's just not enough points to go around for the TEs when everyone's healthy. I guess Cooks's health is the big wild card there.

Neither. I'd try and package both LAR TEs for a 2020 2nd to a TE-needy team in the offseason.

Not sure who I like more long-term, but I think Everett has more current value (although it's gotten closet over the past couple of weeks). I'd hold both or at least try to trade one if possible. I think both should be owned in most leagues because one of them is bound to go somewhere else.

This. Those Rams TEs are too hard to predict for me, as much as they can show out any given week.

Everett between the two, but trading both is a great idea as mentioned by Ditka.

When do you have to decide? I have both on my squad right now and don't need to cut anyone until the draft next August, so I plan to hold both over the off season. But if both are healthy and in LA next season I will likely cut/trade both for roster spots.

I'm hoping to move Higbee, who I picked up when Hooper went down, to the Everett owner around the draft. Our league is moving to TE premium next year so I'm hoping to sell him for a 2nd or 3rd at the draft. Realistically I think an Everett owner would be most interested in Higbee, and vice-versa.

I do think moving either has a 10% chance of really looking bad next year though.
