Ian Thomas or Dawson Knox?

Would you want Thomas or Knox for next year+?

I have a hard time understanding why Thomas barely played at all until mid-late season this year after a decent finish last year, not pushing 34-year old Olsen at all for playing time for months. Plus it's only a concussion and Olsen might not retire this year either after rumors of it last year.

Meanwhile, Knox has flashed himself, but is really up and down on a strange offense.

Both guys have just ok or terrible QBs, depending who you ask.

Thomas for me. He has shown very well when giving starter reps over the last two years. He just needs to be the guy and continue to grow.

Hah, and now Olsen's already back at practice. Still no idea who's a better bet next year and beyond - tough call, especially with Olsen still around for who knows how many more seasons.

Not sure there's a right answer here for now, but I think I'd lean Knox. I do think Thomas finishes strong if Olsen doesn't come back (which looks like he probably will as early as this week).

I like both- but would probably lean Thomas. I like his size and seems to come around once he gets touches. Once he's had time to practice as the TE1 I think he be worth quite a bit more than he is currently.

Knox has the higher ceiling with how few weapons there are in that offense but Thomas has shown more and definitely has a safer floor with no Olsen next year. If you want a safe TE1 then I lean Thomas but since you are set at the position with Kelce and Andrews I would go Knox for upside

I'm a massive fan of both but I honestly think that Thomas can become a top 5 TE in the long run.

Give me Knox. I had the choice between the two of them this year, and I took Knox over Thomas. I like Thomas too, but Knox has no competition in Buffalo. Thomas isn't even the starter on his own team, and I don't know that there's a lot of targets to go around anyways with CMC and DJ Moore there. Those guys will feast.

Pretty much a toss-up. I'd lean Thomas slightly though.

I agree with you in regards to Thomas not able to push Olsen for more snaps, it tells me he's not close. I know it takes years for TE's to develop so he still may be a good TE once Olsen leaves, but Knox is doing it year 1. He reminds me of Herndon a little bit and with that I lean Knox, his film is fun to watch and reminds me of smaller Gronk after the catch.
