Godwin for 1.01 Trade

I posted this in the 2019 In-Season Trade thread, but I'm curious to hear what people think about this trade I recently made.

Send: Chris Godwin and Kerryon Johnson
Receive: Pick #1 and Calvin Ridley

I personally liked the move but a few of my league mates wanted to veto it based on Godwin's current value. This went to a team that earned the #1 too.

Idk if Godwin will ever be more valuable than he is now and I don't trust Kerryon. This trade also gives me the #1 and #2 overall picks in a stacked draft class. Good, bad, or ugly?

Godwin and the 1.01 should be close in value, but I'd take Ridley over Kerryon very easily.

Not sure why anyone would be crying about this trade. I'd rather have Godwin than the 1.01, and I'd rather have Ridley over Kerryon. Don't think it's some massive gap by any means.

I have 1.01 over Godwin by a fair margin and I'm confident this will be pretty universal come draft day. There's too many guys with elite potential and too many ideal landing spots for this to not be true. Any of the top 5 RBs go to KC, Houston, Atlanta, etc... or if Lamb or Jeudy goes somewhere stable where they can be the #1 like Arizona then I take them over Godwin pretty easily. KJ and Ridley are probably more even than people are perceiving right now as well, but the offseason will equalize that once KJ is healthy and lighting up camp again imo.

In other words it's probably an even trade and if you need an RB upgrade I'd take it.

This. You only hope a WR does what Godwin is doing. A RB in a perfect situation that is talented might, but there is still risk. However Ridley is far preferred to Kerryon so I can see this deal, especially depending on team needs.

Ya it seems insane to me that word would even be thrown around. Shows me they are just upset one team is probably getting better and that they didn't make the trade. This is nowhere even remotely close to veto. It would have to be like 4th rounder for Godwin or something.

Only people screaming veto are the ones that are jealous that they didn’t make an offer for the 1.01. F those guys.

That being said, I prefer the Godwin side.

Fair trade and arguments can be made both ways. I'm a huge Godwin fan, but the 1.1 this year is tempting. Ridley is definitely a better asset than Kerryon right now.

PS: Vetos are the worst.

The 1.01 doesn't excite me as much as the guy you already have - not that it's far apart.
