Missed Playoffs at 6-8, Any Advice

Postby Packerland » Mon Dec 09, 2019 12:29 pm

I recently missed the playoffs in a 10 team, 1 QB, .5 PPR league and I'm not sure how to proceed, any suggestions?

I know I need to upgrade at QB as that's where I'm losing points. What would you try to unload? Who would you target in the first round of 2020 draft? I'm very hesitant to take Burrow or Tua in a 1 QB league that early.

Roster:
QB: Winston, Brady, Rivers
RB: Zeke, Fournette, Mixon, Guice, Royce Freeman
WR: Hopkins, OBJ, Ridley, McLaurin, Devante Parker, Mike Williams, Diontae Johnson
TE: Andrews, Hockenson, Goedert, Doyle
D/ST Chargers, Seahawks, Eagles
Picks 2 2020 firsts between 1.1-1.4 this year early 2020 2nd and 2 2020 3rds.

Thanks for the help!
10 Team .5 PPR 1 QB League

QB: Goff, Brady, Herbert, Tannehill
RB: CEH, JT, Akers, Dobbins, Mixon
WR: Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Lamb, Chark, Claypool, Pittman, Diontae, Anderson
TE: Andrews, Goedert

Picks:
2021: 4 1sts, 1 2nd
2022: 1 1st, 2 2nds

Your team is in good shape overall. Solid top 3 RB's and WR's. I would not even consider taking a QB high in the draft. I think as the off season unfolds, you will be able to add a solid QB and then use your picks to stock pile really solid assets. I would make a few minor tweaks, but overall I think you are in good shape. Fantasy changes so much year to year and you have top end talent.

Gator,

Appreciate the advice. Would you take a WR and RB in the 2020 Rookie Draft? If so, who is your top 4? I have Swift, Jeudy, Taylor, and Lamb with Ettiene at 5.

Your team is fine. Just keep building. Take BPA in the draft. Do not take a QB with your first two picks, way too early for that.

i highly doubt qb was the primary issue. do not even think about how you are gonna use those rookie picks until after the nfl draft.

the only "sell" i see on your team is mark andrews. people still paying a lot for him and your tes are fine without him, and he wont ever have steady volume to trust him more than your other TE each week so thats where i look to cash out.

3rd round absolute earlist for a qb for you next year should you feel the need for one
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

any random forum goers top 4 right now has no bearing on the top 4 come draft day or your decision, it can only cloud your judgement.

Landing spots will play a huge role, but if you come out of the draft with Swift/Taylor and Jeudy, that is a really nice haul. The draft will put this more in focus though and I would not lock in on any combo of players yet. BPA

Wouldnt trade Andrews as someone here suggested. Ravens use their TEs, especially him. Lamars favorite target, and hes very efficient throwing between the numbers. Its the WRs that have volume concerns. He could easily be your best TE for the next 2 years or so.
12 Team SF IDP
QB - Mahomes, Lawrence, Mac
RB - Etienne, Walker, Rhamondre, Javonte, Akers, CEH
WR - AJB, Waddle, Higgins, Gabe, Toney

DL - Quinnen, Highsmith, Josh Allen
LB - Lloyd, JOK, Gay, Bush
DB - Winfield, Love, Delpit

RB - Henry, Kamara, Swift, Herbert

Targets per game
George Kittle - 6.7
Mark Andrews - 6.6 (8th)

Deep Targets Per Game
Travis Kelce - 1.17
Mark Andrews - 1.25 (Leader)

Dominator Rating
Hooper - 26.4%
Andrews - 26.5% (2nd)

These are just a few but the point is hes top 10 in just about every category pertaining to opportunity/production. And young. Strong hold imo.
