Drop Advice

I want to pick up Ian Thomas on the second team in my signature. I’ve had him on my watch all year and with the terribly sad and unfortunate injury to Olsen I’m worried someone else will pick him up. The problem is I don’t have an easy drop on my bench.

How would you rank Sammy Watkins, Jamison Crowder and Sterling Shepherd? Would you consider dropping any of them for Thomas?

I'd probably rank them: Shepard, Watkins, Crowder. If I'm dropping anyone, I guess it would be Crowder.

Honestly, I'd drop Watkins at this point, though I'd try to sell him to someone for a 3rd first if your trade deadline hasn't passed. Watkins has had plenty of chances to be fantasy relevant throughout his career and failed. If he can't even be a somewhat consistent WR3 or flex in KC with Mahomes, I don't see how he's anything more than a roster-clogger in dynasty going forward. Watkins still has some name value, but both Shepard and Crowder have been better fantasy assets.

I really appreciate all the help I get from this community, I was definitely thinking Crowder but was on the fence about even making the drop. In the end I definitely don’t see Watkins ever being in a better situation than he’s had this season and he just can’t get it done.

They all hold trade value so if you can sell any of them, even at a discount it's better than nothing.

I'm sure someone would bite at giving up their 2nd for Watkins.

Our trade deadline passed in week 12, I did send some offers with Watkins but there wasn't any real interest. The two teams that opened discussions regarding him were really only using him as an in to switch negotiations towards other players (Michael Thomas & Nick Chubb).
