Way to tank if using potential points as draft orderer?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Basically what I did was this which allowed me the 1.01. As soon as I realized I wasn't a contender like I expected to be after the startup draft and was probably a middle team if I didn't make some moves, I sold. Anything that is 28+ has not much value for a rebuilding team. So if you have old guys sell them. You may have to take slight less value but it will get you something even if it's a third or fourth round pick. Then I picked up a bunch of rookies and second year players to make sure I filled my roster spots. I still put out the best possible team from what was left.

Doing this allowed me to get rid of the better players that will score points which limits the potential points of my lineup. As a result low potential points will get you a better draft pick.
Team 1:
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Geno, Hooker, Rush
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Elijah Mitchell, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom, Irv Smith

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi

How to tank when using Potential Points,

Have fewer options scoring points. Trade away assets for picks. Trade for as many IR players, Suspended players, and rookies/backups waiting for a chance. If you have a bench full of players that don't score points, your points possible will generally tend to be lower than those that have a bench full of choices every week. Also, don't carry an extras at positions like Qb, TE, K or Def.

I see three ways to play fair yet still ' compete ' for the top picks, and all three ways have been mentioned 1) trade point scorers for picks/prospects. 2)trade point scorers for injured guys. 3)stack HEAVILY at one position if you're set on keeping any player(s). Ex; if you have a guy like saquon, there's not much reason to trade him unless you get floored with an offer so him being the cornerstone, trade all wr depth for rb depth so that way your optimal roster can only start maybe 4rb or so and the starting wrs are dooky. Then like someone said, when ready to compete it should be easy to trade rb talent to a rb deprived team for the wr firepower to compete, if your collective of picks/prospects hasn't netted you some semblance of a wr stable. Sorry if this was repetitive and/or a bit scattered, good luck.

Only a few things work well in this format that are totally legit...
(1) trade healthy stars for injured stars (maybe a natural upgrade in talent or you ask for the injured player plus a pick... they aren’t scoring against your potential points but they set you up well for upcoming year
(2) trade players for picks (I especially like this move with mid-tier guys who inconsistently blow up and hit your potential points)
(3) don’t roster unnecessary players who will score here and there but are not part of your long-term plan... grab a few players who aren’t scoring now but could develop
