In hindsight, should of made this trade?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

In hindsight, should of made this trade?

Postby Nflnz » Thu Nov 21, 2019 12:34 am

Back in September I posted this trade I was offered

Give: TJ Hock
Get: 2020 1st late and DJ Chark

The majority were in favour of keeping Hock, in hindsight this was a bad move right after the season Chark has had?

With the benefit of hindsight yes.
But Hockenson is so young and has all the tools to be a top tight end for 10+ years. He went in the mid first round of rookie drafts.
Before season started Dede was going to break out with Foles.

I think the process and advice was solid. There will always be surprises.

Trust the process. Every trade or non-trade will eventually work out with a winner and a loser. You can't predict the future. All we can do is have a process, and follow it as closely as possible.

Right now in hindsight, yes you should have made the trade.
Very possible that next year in hindsight you were right to not make the trade.

We've all made trades that in hingsight we now know we shouldn't have or rejected trades we should have accepted, it's part of the game. Just worry about the future and making the best decisions you can with the information you have.

Chark > Hockenson = late 1st
Chark + late 1st >> Hockenson

As of right now it looks like a big win (coming from someone who sold Chark for a 2nd preseason...sigh). Chark looks amazing, and Hockenson having two concussions as a rookie really scares me off him as well.

In the preseason I traded away Godwin, Hunter Henry, Sony Michel, and Jaylon Smith (LB) and received Juju. Wish I didn't make the trade now but it is part of the game.

It would have been a great deal in hindsight, but hope for the best in 2020.

That's painful because right now Godwin > Juju, Henry > Juju, but you had no way to know. But looks like Juju can't handle being the man by himself, also bad QB play hasn't helped.

I think the way things are at the moment, that was a snap accept. However, I still think Hock turns into a stud; TEs can take a little longer to develop.

So it’s not worth me trying to execute the trade now?

I recon I could still make the trade happen, it just might cost be a 2nd round pick

I'd jump on that if you think you can still get it done.

Was it only one? I thought Week 4 vs KC and Week 9 @ OAK?
