Lamar trade in SF (Poll)

Postby Hankybro21 » Mon Nov 18, 2019 5:49 pm

I’m posting this for a buddy of mine who was approached about selling Lamar in our SF league. Starting requirements are outlined in Team 2 in my sig.

Give: Lamar
Get: Rodgers, Daniel Jones, Chubb, Diggs, 2020 2 (mid/late)

He’s currently in 1st and is easily one of the top 2 favorites this year and next. His team is as follows:

QB: Lamar, Mahomes, Brees, Bridgewater, Moore
WR: MT, Evans, Hollywood, Washington, JJAW, Hardman, Keesean
RB: Kamara, Barkley, DJ, Ingram, Guice, Edmonds, Damien Harris, Armstead, Darwin
TE: Hunter, Gesicki

He’s lacking depth so this would help that, but moving Lamar hurts. Thoughts?
Team 1
Q: Allen, Lamar
W: Devonta, Nuk, Godwin, Adams, Diontae, MT, Bateman, Toney, Osborn
R: JT, Henry, Ekeler, Gibbs, Mattison, Ford
T: Kelce

Team 2
Q: Allen, Mahomes, ARich
W: Jefferson, AJB, Tyreek, GW, Ridley, Godwin, MT, Downs, Toney
R: JT, CMC, Barkley, Breece, J. Cook, Kamara
T: Kelce, Hock
2024: 1.02, 1.04, Pick 21
2025: 1st (early)

Team 3
Q: Lamar, Herbert, Goff, Geno
W: Chase, AJB, Waddle, Pittman, Ridley, MT, Terrace Marshall, Downs
R: CMC, Ekeler, Bijan, Barkley, JT, Kamara, Tucker
T: Andrews, Granson
2024: 1.03, 3rd (late)

Team 4
Q: Mahomes, Allen, Geno
W: Tyreek, Lamb, Ridley, Pittman, Diontae, MT
R: CMC, Henry, JT, Chubb, Dobbins, Tucker
T: Kelce, Gesicki, Kittle

That is a monster package but Jackson is a top 2 SF asset. Really tough call here. Seems like the package is the way to go if you believe in Jones long term.

We were sorta saying the same. Prolly a pretty fair package but moving Lamar in SF is just next to impossible

I'm going to go the other way here (albeit barely). You're in a 10-team league, which means you're playing an all-star team every week. You don't win with depth; you win with stars, and Lamar Jackson is a superstar.
I love Chubb, but he loses value in SF.
Love Diggs but think his role gets smaller after Theilen returns
Love Jones, but Jackson is going to have those absolute monster games that win you the week coming out of the gate.
You're getting a bit of nice depth, but it really depends on where you stand on Lamar long term.

I'm betting on LJ aging well; I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd pass.

way too rich of an offer to pass up imo. Easy accept.

Don't love it because Mahomes+Jackson in SF is insane but that is too much to pass up. I think Jones will be a fantasy beast soon enough (not LJ but few are)
And getting that kind of RB/WR talent at a young age can stock a team

The haul is probably too big to pass up, but dang I'd have to think long and hard about giving up 1/2 a starting QB tandem in SF of Mahomes and Jackson. That alone would win you lots of weeks.

That's definitely an overpay for Jackson, even in superflex. That said, since he's contending, I'm not sure I'd want to break up that roster as is. Winning a title > winning trades.

I'm going to go ahead and say that anybody that has an offer like this for Lamar and doesnt take it will regret it big time.

Remember this time last year who was all the rage? Baker Mayfield. People trying to value him in the top 3 and people getting those types offers. Anybody that held is kicking themselves. Take that offer and run.

I think even in a 10 team league, your friend should hold the QBs through the season. They've already got something like 4-5 first round start up picks on the roster. If they still want to sell Lamar after the season, they'll still be able to get a haul.

Then again, I think Rodgers is a QB2 going forward and I don't like Jones. So that is a large discrepancy in perceived value.
