Kelce/Hooper Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kelce/Hooper Trade

Postby chadwilliam » Fri Nov 15, 2019 6:55 am

In my 2QB league, I am planning to re-tool. I am currently 4-6 and my matchup this week is too close to call, but is with a contending team. I am essentially eliminated from playoff contention. A contending team who owns Hooper is interested in Kelce because of Hooper's injury. We have been discussing various Kelce/Hooper trades over the past week or so. The other owner has offered the following trade -

I send: Travis Kelce, Christian Kirk, and 2020 4th Round Pick

I receive: Austin Hooper, Cam Newton, Brandin Cooks, and a 2021 2nd Round Pick

This trade would allow me to get younger at the TE position, along with acquiring another QB to make a push for next year. If acquiring Cam, I would most likely have Mahomes, Baker, Newton, Roethlisberger, Minshew, and a potential 2020 rookie QB as my QB options.

Should I pull the trigger on this trade? Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. The rest of my team is in my signature. Thank you!

Long term this trade could pay off pending what happens with Newton. I would not trade Kirk however.

In a 2QB, I'd take the Hooper deal. If Newton and Cooks can rebound, this is a big win.

Thanks RB6! I would be hoping for both of them to return to at least close to what they have performed at in the past.

I dont think Kirk needs to be in the deal and I wouldn't be moving him in a retool.

Cam has a real chance of a Luck, RG3 dissolve imo. He also was playing his worst football at the start of the year.

Be careful with Hooper, he's been lethal but he's also a free agent and the Falcons are way over the cap. Unless the Patriots steal him you'll be in worse shape if he leaves the Falcons new TE heavy OC scheme.

I think the offer is light for a possible league winning TE.

I don't like this trade at all. Cam and Cooks are both big question marks right now for different reasons and Kelce is still worth more than Hooper (but the gap is much closer these days). I'd remove Kirk from your end and maybe swap him with something smaller.
