Made 3 pretty big trades last night....

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Made 3 pretty big trades last night....

Postby Houptie » Thu Nov 14, 2019 9:39 am

Went into the night as a rebuilding team with loads of picks. Currently 2-8 but have "tanked" somewhat. Had this team:
QB: Dak, Lamar
RB: Saquon, Hunt, Guice, Penny, Brian Hill, Ballage, Pollard, Ito Smith, Justice Hill, McKinnon
Wr: Cooper, Robinson, Reynolds, Anthony Miller, AJ Brown, Isabella, Boykin, Parris Campbell
TE: Andrews, Hockenson, Everett, Gesicki, Warring.

And had 6 2020 1sts, 1 2021 1st, 2 2022 1sts and 1 2022 3rd.

It is a 12 team dynasty ppr league. Starting lineup is as follows: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, FLEX, WR/TE

Glarring hole would be WR and I want to win as soon as next year.

First trade was my 2021 1st straight up for Jarvis Landry. Think him as my WR2 behind Cooper is solid and if I can win next year my 1st is pointless almost. Thoughts?

Second Trade was one that hurt. I gave up Everett (who cares), my 2022 1st and 3rd, and Lamar Jackson. Hurt to give up Lamar but I can start Dak who is also top 5. For that package I got back Juju. Now I have Cooper, Juju and Landry for the long long term.Thoughts?

Last trade was kind of a surprise and just happened. I will give you my thought process on it before explaining the trade. I am at roster limit already and after the first two trades I gave away 2 players but got 2 back. I have a few guys that could potentially be expendable but not yet. Next year McKinnon could be gone but cant right now. Reynolds and Robinson are too valuable imo bc Cooks might be traded/retire due to cap issues/concussions. And Watkins could be cap casualty as Chiefs try and shore up their team. I have 6 first rounders so I would need AT LEAST 6 roster spots. So.......

I traded my other 2022 1st, two 2020 1st rounders (both appear to be back end, one is in first place and the other is in 3rd) and Parris Campbell to receive a 2021 2nd and Chris Godwin.

So I can now roll out a lineup next year of:
QB: Dak
RB: Saquon
RB: Hunt
WR:Cooper
WR:Juju
TE: Andrews/Hockenson
FLEX:Godwin
FLEX:Guice
WR/TE: Landry

With 4 first rounders in this coming draft. The teams picks who I have are in 11th, 9th, 8th, and 5th. Teams in our league who dont make the playoffs compete in toilet bowl for top pick so its not just reverse standings.

I think I killed it but I overthink it and doubt myself sometimes. Cant take it back but any insight or reflection is welcomed. Thank you guys!!!

Not terrible, but personally I would've kept the 1st over a middling WR2/3.

Seems fair in 1QB, though probably a bit of an overpay given how much JuJu's production has fallen without Roethlisberger.

Seems like a decent deal for Godwin assuming both 2020 1sts do end up late. I like this one best of the three.

Yeah I made the Landry one first and he was stubborn as a mule. Just felt like I had to get at least one wr I could count on. Would you feel confident with that team next year?

Dislike the first trade, love the second trade, and third trade was good.

Not a fan of the first deal, but the second and third deals were pretty solid.
