Brian Hill or Carlos Hyde?

.5 PPR. Both would be my RB2 or RB3 for the season
I'm in too many leagues to list them here

Unless Freeman is out for the year Hill will be a back up again in 2-3 weeks. The fantasy season is almost over, but if you are in the playoffs I'd hate the see your RB2 get benched during the playoffs.

Hill is JAG. Freeman is only supposed to be out for a couple weeks. So this is easily Hyde in a ROS scenario.

Yeah I see both only as short-term options for this year. I'm torn because I see Hyde as the more consistent producer while Hill has more upside (Hyde gets no receiving work) but could also be irrelevant for fantasy playoffs.

So I'm basically deciding between a safe middling option (assuming Hyde stays healthy) or an upside play that might go away when I need him in the playoffs.

True, but to be fair Hyde is JAG at this point in his career too. I do wonder if Atlanta shuts down Freeman or keeps him very limited for the year due to poor record.

Hyde may be JAG, but he's a JAG who just went off for 160 yards last game. Hill is a third stringer who needed 20 carries last game just to get 60 yards. So if you want to go all in on him, have at it. Good luck.

I have really liked what I've seen from Hyde this year. Just the almost non-existent receiving work makes him pretty reliant on TDs. That being said, I'm only giving up Hill to acquire him.

On the 60 yard run he fumbled. Hyde is JAG, and the Texans will draft a RB next year. Brian hill is a 3 down prospect, who has shown receiving upside before. I’d go with him just because if you’re starting hyde regardless at rb2-3 you’re not really competing so might as well take upside. Freeman’s been injured/a shell of his old self for quite a while now.

I’d try to get more from Hill. Maybe wait and see if he has a good game this weekend. Then again, you always run the risk of getting Ty Johnsoned.

Hill will help you win your match ups this week and next. Then you'd have to decide whether ATL is committed to him as their future back or they are drafting Freeman's replacement in 2020, with so many options out there. There is potential upside there or total drop in value to zero. It's a risk, but we know where Hyde sits value-wise for the next 2-3 years.
