This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Aaron Jones vs. Nick Chubb

Postby harveyd » Wed Nov 13, 2019 3:20 pm

Hey all,

I've been talking to one of my leaguemates about working out a big trade with Aaron Jones and Nick Chubb as the center pieces. So far, we've got this on the table:

Give:
Aaron Jones
DJ Chark
AJ Brown

Receive:
Nick Chubb
???

What are your guys thoughts on this trade? Jones is having a monster year but it seems like one of those situations where he's unlikely to repeat this type of production again (aka Zach Ertz 2018), whereas I think Chubb will have much better longevity. Do you guys agree with this assessment? What kind of secondary piece would be needed to balance the values? I've listed the other interesting players on my trade partner's squad below:

Saquon
Zeke
Kerryon Johnson
Keenan Allen
OBJ
Boyd
Julio
Corey Davis

And here are my league/team details:
12 team 1.0 PPR, start 1QB/2RB/3WR/FLEX/TE
R. Wilson, D. Carr
T. Gurley, A. Jones, Dam. Williams, K. Hunt, R. Jones, L. McCoy
M. Evans, C. Sutton, D. Chark, AJ Brown, AJ Green, J. Landry, M. Williams, A. Brown, L. Fitzgerald, C. Beasley
Z. Ertz, M. Andrews, D. Waller, J. Witten, T. Burton

I like Chubb more long term, but that could be player preference. Boyd coming back could be a nice piece.

I don't see a huge gap between Chubb and Jones. I'd try Jones + Landry for Chubb straight up.

The gap is definitely not equal to Chark + AJB, you need to ask for at least Boyd back in return. I'd prefer something like Ditka suggested, Chubb for AJ + Landry.

I’m definitely not adding DJ Chark. Take him out and it’s a deal.

Wouldn’t move Chubb for Aaron Jones plus Chark. Aaron Jones is a 5 9 205 pound RB... he’s gotten hurt 6 straight years, but hasn’t this year. He’s extremely non durable, and while the talent is there he’s not like Chubb. Chubb is on pace for 1900 yards with how bad the browns offense has been. Aaron Jones is a Devonta Freeman type and Chubb is zeke like.

To be fair, this is Jones third year in the league and he played 12 games in each of his first two years. Yes his durability is a concern but it’s not like we’re talking Guice or Kerryon Johnson injury history and Jones has been hyper efficient when used. Agree Chubb > Jones though no question there long term.

Maybe add Kerryon and Davis coming back to balance it out for you
I'm in too many leagues to list them here

If you're going to include Chark and Brown, I'd need at least Keenan coming back with Chubb.
