Team on Championship Run Dilemma

So here's my dilemma, I'm outscoring the opposition in my league by 20+ pts/game over the next closest team and am currently 10-0 with a 3 game lead in my division.

However, if the Lions decide to shut Stafford down for the season, I have no viable backup at all with Flaaco on IR and Minshew on the pine. There aren't any viable backups on the wire either though I will likely try to pick up Driskel for insurance since I have an open roster spot.

Sadly, due to another owner having 7 QBs on his roster and still somehow having the second best record in the league and being my main opposition, any other viable trade options are not really available. Only one other team has 3 viable QBs and that's if you consider Rivers still viable.

The dilemma is, should I trade my 2020 1st round pick for Drew Brees (hopefully it's the 1.12 with Brees on board, no better than the 1.8) or should I just suffer and hope for the best with the likes of Brandon Allen, Ryan Finley, and maybe Jeff Driskel? I also have an earlier 1st rd pick in 2020 due to an earlier trade so I do have an extra pick there.

So what do you say, keep my late 1st in 2020 and risk having no QB in the playoffs, or trade it away for Brees and increase my chances of repeating as champion again?

Thanks!

Just pick up Driskel and roll with him. You'll be fine. Save your first. I'm in same dilemma in a league and will be rolling with Driskel.

Fair take and a good option.

I don't think Stafford misses many games. Go with Driskel/Allen/Finely in the meantime instead of overpaying for a QB by a ton.

So then the obvious follow up is, what if I don't get Driskel? I'm low on BB dollars and lose all bidding ties.

Stafford will be back and playing this weekend. Absolutely do not trade a first for Brees. Yuck.

Then you start Allen or Finley in the meantime. Or offer a late 2nd for Brees or something similar for another QB.

You should be able to. If not, Ryan Finley until Stafford is back. He wont be shut down for whole season. *knocks on wood*

Lol, if I was running the Lions I would shut him down for the rest of the year for sure. This year is over for the Lions.

Already offered a late 2nd plus Pettis and they declined.

Sounds like sitting tight is prudent, but hate to miss out on those Chanpion$hip rewards.

It sounds like Stafford's injury is only going to keep him out a week or two. I'd sit tight rather than overpay for Brees.

You obviously don't know Stafford and the Lions then. Stafford had broken bones in his back last season and the Lions were out of the playoffs. The season was over for them, and he played every game. But sure. Trade a bunch of first round picks for any QB you can get if it makes you feel better........

You have the worst 10-0 team I have ever seen. You won’t win regardless. Good luck

Could try to trade an early first for Watson but idk what the league looks like. I'll pile on and absent of other info say stick with whatcha got.

I won the championship with this team (minus draft picks that aren't playing) last year and am scoring 22 pts/game more than the next two closest opponents. All the rest of the teams are 30+ pts/game behind me. Pretty sure I have better than 50-50 odds at this point. Still I will take all the luck I can get. Your leagues must be way more unbalanced than those I am in.
