In a 1 QB, a 2nd would be huge but I'm guessing a 3rd is more likely.

I proposed:

Stafford for 2020 1st (lol)

counter from him:
Darnold and 2020 1st for Deshaun Watson

Counter from me:
Stafford for DK Metcalf

Metcalf would be a nice piece to add to a building team right?

You basically countered him back with your same offer. I don't see this getting done if that is how you are valuing Stafford.

His offer was actually fair in my opinion.

LOL. Stafford is barely worth a third, if that, and you asked for a 2020 1st and then DK Metcalf. HAHAHAHAHAHA.... not gonna happen.

If he accepts the Metcalf deal, it would be huge.

All things have to start somewhere. My approach is right, HAHAHAHA.

I'm not sure anyone on this site would approach a trade with their lowest offer from the beginning.

If I'll take a 3rd, which starts as a 1st, and turns into a 2nd.. I'm out ahead.

Adding DK was to get him back on track with a 1st or 2nd rounder.

Create leverage.

That is also how you get an owner to reject, not counter and go to someone else. Your offer will never be accepted by any competent owner.
There’s a difference between leverage and sending an offer that is no where near fair.
Leverage would be asking for a 2nd and a third or 4th then dropping the late pick.

Lol, no. DK Metcalf is worth a 1st. So you got turned down asking for a first, and then turned around and asked.... for a first again? If you were serious about trading Stafford you would have asked for a mid to late 2nd to begin with, and then taken the 3rd. The fact that you think you are getting a first rounder for Matt Stafford in a 1QB league is beyond laughable.

Good luck.

I don't think you two are gonna be able to meet in the middle because you started (and persisted) too far in your favor

Yup one offer way off in value I’ll counter something leaning my way a decent bit. A counter to there at the same level (yours is a worse counter, DK>late 1st), and I’m dropping it

You're asking for way too much. I wouldn't take these offers seriously at all.

He is the one reaching out to all owners with a QB that could be moved. I am fine having Stafford backing up Watson. No reason for me to go shopping my player for minimal return.

My league doesnt shut down trade conversations on a bad offer. We send it back and forth to see what sticks.

Also, I moved Mason Rudolph in this league for a 2020 1st.

We see player value what it is from a high level. If someone really needs a bye week fill in, injuries, etc the actual value of the player changes.

He is very desperate to on board a new QB. Im not desperate to take a 3rd pick I would probably have to taxi for 2-3 years and hope he hits.

That is ridiculous though. I'm not sure anyone on this site is going to be able to give you accurate advice based on your leagues very unique valuing of QBs and picks.
