This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Chubb value

Postby EAGLES » Thu Nov 07, 2019 5:49 pm

*Update* the 2020 1st looks like it’ll be the No. 1 overall pick (based on the owner’s remaining schedule)

Does it make sense for me to go after Chubb for the team below? Currently in 1st place and have the most ‘Points For’. If so, what would you package with the 2020 1st (No. 1 overall) to try to get him? Owner wants the 2020 1st+.

I’m starting to think I may get by with my current RBs and use the 2020 pick for an RB in next years class.

12 Team | 1/2 PPR
1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 2FLEX

My Team Notables:
Dak, Brissett, Carr
Mixon, A. Jones, Hyde, Ekeler, Damien, J. White, Penny
Julio, Evans, Keenan, Kupp, Kirk, AB
Doyle, Delanie, Njoku (IR)
2020: 1st (top 2), 3rd (top 2)

Other Team’s Notables:
Mahomes, Brees, Kyler
Chubb, Henry, Ingram, AP
Thielen
Graham, Hockenson
2020: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

I would offer the potentially top 2 pick for Chubb straight up IF you think it puts you over the top.

If he wants + he's gonna want at least Kirk most likely, which I would be ok doing. If he wants White or Penny then that's great, but if he wants more than Kirk I'd move on.

I'd pay that for Chubb. IMO, he is a generational talent. Many may not agree, but I think he has vision and athleticism that is incredibly rare. You can't argue the athleticism with his 98% SPARQ.

Chubb is a guy I'd target regardless of situation. If you're a contender and can get him for a first and a minor piece, even better.

There’s not a rookie coming out I would take over Chubb. So him being more valuable and being able to help you immediately I’d definitely persue this trade. I’d do Kirk or AB, I’d do Carr, I’d do Damian Williams, White, Penny and probably even Hyde.
Team One: Children of the Light
12 Team PPR- Superflex- Dynasty - Start 9

QB: Herbert, Watson, Young, Cousins
HB: Bijan, Etienne, J.Jacobs, Najee, D.Harris, J.Ford

TE: Hockenson, Kmet, L.Schoonmaker, Likely (T.S.)
Picks: 2024 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd & 3rd

Team Two: One Nation
12 Team IDP- PPR- Superflex- Dynasy - 8 Offensive Starters- 1 DL, 1 EDR, 2 LB, 2 DB, 1DP (DL/LB/DB)

QB: Mahomes, Love, Lance, Purdy

Everyone says this now, until the rookies come out. It’s literally a fallacy to trade these top tier picks for “proven” guys. Half the time the use-value of the player you’re acquiring is substantially less than ppl prepare for. Talk to the guy that paid 3 2017 firsts for DJ for example. I would never trade a top 2 pick for chubb. The value of that player is likely to both be similar to chubb currently, and surpass him over the next few years. This is a draft with the best WR prospect we’ve seen since cooper and incredibly talented RBs that will land in the best situations in the league. Take the pick Over chubb and compete next year. Be patient

I don't agree with this at all. The 1.02 has a roughly 75% chance of producing 1 (yes, one, a single) top 24 WR/RB season. I'll take the odds that Chubb does that all day over the unknown.

Your team is already killing it, but I might try to win it outright and keep the pick. It's only going to grow in value over the coming months.

I love Chubb, but I'm torn as RBs don't last forever and while nothing is guaranteed, I think we're looking at a very safe top-3 next year. God help me, but I'm keeping the pick here.

I get what jonesmaster is saying. This pick will only increase in value and if it does end up being the No. 1 overall pick, I could potentially get Chubb+ in this league (owners go goo-goo-ga-ga over pucks during rookie season).

This is the initial question I asked, does it make sense for my team to add another RB? I can add Chubb and lose depth or keep my team as is and have the best pick in a supposedly stacked class along with my depth. I did make an all-in move by acquiring Julio. If Mixon wasn’t in his current situation, I wouldn’t even be considering adding an RB like Chubb right now.

I am also aware of the possibility that whom ever I draft could 1) not pan out (ie Corey Davis) 2) get injured (ie Guice) and 3) take time to develop (ie Mixon). All of these make me want to push for Chubb now.
