Trade Chubb? Potential Re-tool

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Chubb? Potential Re-tool

Postby chadwilliam » Tue Nov 05, 2019 8:21 pm

I was offered a trade for Nick Chubb in my 2QB PPR Deep Keeper League. I am currently 3-6 and on the outside looking in as far as playoff spot. A contending owner offered me the following deal:

I send - Nick Chubb
I receive - James Conner, DJ Chark, and Christian Kirk

I am looking to re-tool and acquire some depth because this is a 2 FLEX league as well. I have strong building blocks in Mahomes, Kamara, Cook, Hopkins, JuJu, and Adams. Unfortunately, I have experienced some bad luck with close matchups/injuries. Therefore, I feel as though I can acquire depth with this move and look towards the future. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
10 Team PPR 2QB Roster (Keep 20) (2QB/2RB/2WR/2TE/2FLEX) (As of 11/7):

QB: Wilson, Burrow, Herbert, Prescott (IR)
RB: Barkley (IR), Henry, Taylor, Dobbins, Bell, Bernard, Howard
WR: Metcalf, AJ Brown, Hill, Lamb, Jefferson, Lockett, Shenault Jr., Pittman Jr., Crowder, Green,
TE: Fant, Hockenson, Ertz (IR)

2021 picks - 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd
2022 picks - 1st, 1st, 1st, 4th

You have a great team. Hard to believe a team of that caliber could have a losing record, but unfortunately that’s how it goes. I think the value is very good in this trade as i like Chark and especially like Kirk. I do not believe in Conner long term. You have a tough choice on your hands. I would probably hold Chubb though believe it or not.

I appreciate your response! Unfortunately, I have the most points scored and the 2nd most points against. A lot of big weeks mixed with huge letdowns. Chark and Kirk are the major reason that I am considering this trade. I like Conner, but I am concerned about him long-term as well. If I were to do this, I would probably flip him this year. Thank you again!

Real tough. I see value but don't like Conner. If I accepted I'd try to flip him and that's always dangerous...

I’d agree with the above of trying to flip conner immediately. I don’t like him past next year where as Chubb is a real stud. I’d lean holding Chubb but that’s solid value

It's great value imo, but you play in a keep 20 where you have 17 players already as basically roster locks along with 4 1sts. If you take this deal, you would have to turn around and make a consolidation deal yourself. If you're fine with that, then sure.

Keep Chubb and hope for PO this year. If you miss, you'll have the depth next year with those 1sts, and you must be the fav to win it next year with that team.

I would hold Chubb here and hope your team rebounds done the stretch or you are playing for next year anyway. You have a solid team, no need to move Chubb in my opinion.
