Derrick Henry vs 2020 1st (poll)

You can probably get a top-6 First from SOMEone, and if so I'd spring on that

Shouldn’t be trading him for a late 1st that’s pretty ridiculous. If I had Henry I would want a top 5 first. Derrick Henry was around 5th before sitting out a week. Regardless of how he gets the numbers we’ve seen odd players put up very high fantasy points before (I.e Melvin Gordon running for years at 4 a carry, and LF last 3 years). The one thing Dhenry does not have is any injury concerns and as a RB that’s huge. Derrick Henry has lost that boom/bust from years past and has shown he can be extremely consistent this year.

He’s produced: 159, 94, 108, 108, 99, 191, 175, 167, 109, 86, 83 in 11 games.

In the 3 games I didn’t include: He had 1 bad game, and two others that were fine: 78 yards and a TD, and 46 yards and a TD

All of that plus 15 TDs in 14 games.

Henry is in the last year of his rookie deal, so he may not be back in TN next season. Then take into account the drop off RBs seem to have had lately once they are on their 2nd deal.

Now is a terrible time to be trying to buy Derrick Henry. I would pivot and try and buy someone else.

Very different situation with Dhenry. Considering the drop off of RBs in their 2nd deal is almost always a case of overuse. Zeke, MG3, bell, Gurley etc. Dhenry is super fresh. Never had injury problems whereas bell, Mg3, Gurley all have had them, and in general He’s had way less usage then other RBs of his caliber. He practically rested the first two years and even last year wasn’t anything crazy. If he gets resigned he’s in great shape, and with how this offense is looking with him and Tannehill I feel like he has a good shot.

Also not saying you should buy him just saying that I can’t reasonably see how anyone would buy him for less than a top 5 first, and definitely not a late one lol.

He's balling and is still disregarded by many. His late season dominance this and last year have been great for fantasy. 10 touchdowns in the last 6 games to go along with 188. 159, 149, 103, 86, and 211 rushing yard games. He has been consistent in all other games this year as well. This year he ranked 4th-6th depending on standard/PPR format. If he can get resigned (which I don't see how he can't at this point), his future looks really bright. It's also great the Titans finally are utilizing him properly, and hopefully the lack of any significant injuries, and overall low usage can benefit him in the long-run.
