Hockenson for Waller

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hockenson for Waller

Postby norcalmill » Sat Nov 02, 2019 12:15 pm

Not team in Sig.

I have a very complete team. 8-0. Every position has depth and top end talent. Everything except TE.
Have Hockenson, and nothing else. Hot garbage Brate and Burton or whom ever else i can pick of the waiver wire bones.

The owner of Waller has been receptive. What do you think about straight up Hock for Waller? its the classic win now trade. My current thought is see how this weekend goes and pull the trigger on this trade next week if its still a Desert for Hock

If Waller puts you over the top, I think it's worth it. Waller should be a top option for a few years anyway.

Good win now move but I’d first ask for a 2nd back on top.

I would hold Hock. He is going to be a better asset long term and 8-0 teams don't need to trade away future greatness.

Would definitely do it. Gives you a much better chance to cap off this year with a title. And it's not like Waller is on the backend of his career. Kudos for you on looking for ways to improve. Many 8-0 owners get arrogant and assume they will cruise to a championship.

I think it's a really fair trade. Hock has more upside long term but you seem to know that and are willing to pay that to win during your championship window.

I'd do the deal. We play to win, not build the youngest rosters full of potential that they may or may not ever live up to.

Try to get a pick on top so you can get a Rookie TE next year.

Get Waller. Much better asset for your contending team this year

I'm fine with getting Waller here, especially if you are in a TE-premium format.

However I think you should first take a look at your team's overall scoring. Do you think you can win the league with hock now, or is it close enough that you need that TE to push you over the top?

I think we'll see Vegas bring in some more WRs (either vets or through the draft) that will take targets away from Waller next year, whereas hock will get better and better as he develops.

As a middling (8-7) team myself, I'd be a little hesitant to make such a trade. But for a contender...go for it. Also the Hock concussion scare might be something to monitor for your team regardless.

Waller for me here. He will get targets each week and produce for you. Hock has better high end upside, but if your in win now I’d go for it. Are there any teams in a rebuild with a high end te you could trade depth to?
