That's more than fair in my eyes, he looks great but has a major roadblock to significant playing time barring injury. I'd think mid-to-late 2nd is more appropriate.

Late 2nd for long term hope.

Agree! Cook isn't going anywhere for a few years. There would need to be an injury or a trade for Mattison to get a grip on anything. Highly unlikely Minnesota is trading a talented dirt cheap option.

Early 2nd is too much for me. As others have said, Cook isn’t going anywhere for the next few years, so Mattison will be stuck behind him and has minimal value, unless an injury occurs. Mid-late 2nd is more appropriate.

I kind of view the situation like Tomlinson and Turner (provided Mattison keeps developing). Turner had to wait a few years, move on and then was a beast for a couple years elsewhere as a starter.

Perhaps true... I would expect Mattison to have the same value in a year. Giving a 2nd in this draft doesn't make a lot of sense if you can give a 2nd in the following draft

I tried buying Mattison in my league for a 2nd + Duke Johnson and it got declined. I have a competing team and am a Cook owner. Also, Duke is expendable for me. I knew I was overpaying but I wanted that Cook insurance. I wouldn't say Cook isn't going anywhere, All it takes is a hamstring issue for Cook and he'll be out for weeks. Mattison immediately becomes a RB 1.

I own Mattison in 4 of my 5 dynasty leagues. I imagine most owners are like me: we're holding out until Cook goes down, and then Mattison will either be A) a league winner for us on a competitive team, or B) a huge selling piece to a competitive team, potentially even for a future 1st.

Team 3 - Someone just offered me Mattison for Drake , I took it since I have Cook.

Team 2 - I moved Mattison for Darwin , Anderson (Cinn hurt RB) , 2nd , 3rd.

Overall I would pay a early 2nd if I had Cook , I would sell for a mid 2nd if I didn't have Cook

2nd may be fair......but the owner may not sell.......

If I could buy for a 2nd I would....In leagues where I have him...I am not moving him for that.....will have to be an overpay to sell.......

I like Mattison, I suspect I'll own him in several leagues next season. This is not time to trade for him, people are excited about his ability and he had the rookie boost going for him. He's in a terrible fantasy situation and I suspect after owning him for a season or more without being able to start him his owners will sell him for considerable less in the future.

This does leave to risk the chance of Cook going down and Mattison's value exploding.
