A contender is looking for a piece that helps him win in 2019. I am a few pieces and one year away from contending. The contending owner reached out for Phillip Lindsay, I said it would take AJ Brown straight up to get it done. Is this a fair deal straight up or should I look to add a small piece (2020 3rd or 4th)?

I would have asked for a 2nd on top, but I think the value is close overall. Lindsay holds more value now however, so I think you should get a pick on top.

If he is coming to you wanting Lindsay to help him win now, you should ask for something on top. Not sure if you could get a 2nd on top, but I’d try for one. Even if you have to add a 3rd or 4th going back to him. If not, try to get a 3rd.

Thanks all. The final trade ended up me shipping Phillip Lindsay/Preston Williams and receiving AJ Brown/Tarik Cohen. I tried to sway the trade in my direction a little more but I am happy with the overall result. Lindsay and Preston are high performing UDFA's but may be irrelevant in 2-3 years. I think AJ will double his current value in that time so it is a long term play on my end.

I like it! Lindsay is producing now but it certainly seems like Denver wants to get Royce going more and more. Even passing to him. I think AJ will be a valuable starter for a while.
